At just 9 years old, Ellis Serio from Syble Hopp School stands out not only for his infectious enthusiasm but also for his remarkable journey navigating life with Koolen-deVries Syndrome. Ellis, like many students at his school, doesn't follow the traditional grading system. Instead, they journey through education until their 21st birthday, embracing a unique approach to learning.

As for favorite TV shows and movies, Ellis loves everything Disney including the classics like "Pinnochio" and "Snow White."

Ellis finds joy in music, relishing in the melodies and often singing along, and his favorite pastimes include diving into the pages of books, splashing in the pool, and exploring the adventure-filled realms of playgrounds. 

Reflecting on his fondest vacation memories, Ellis recalls his experiences aboard the Disney Cruise, where he felt a sense of belonging and inclusivity. As someone with unique needs, Ellis cherishes environments that accommodate him, fostering a sense of independence and joy. Ellis has also rubbed shoulders with some of his beloved Disney characters, having met Goofy, Snow White, and Donald Duck.

Ellis doesn't shy away from acknowledging his challenges, particularly in speech and fine motor skills. Despite these hurdles, he remains determined, eagerly embracing opportunities to strengthen his abilities and grow.

Looking to the future, Ellis dreams of working in a restaurant, however, his mother envisions a different path for him, one that involves exploring vocational opportunities through a Project Search Program.
