Delta House of Pancakes - Fundraiser for St. Jude

In the spirit of sisterhood and service, the women of Delta Delta Delta (Tri Delta) recently hosted one of their most beloved annual philanthropy events, Delta House of Pancakes (DHOP), an all-night fundraiser benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

The event, which ran from 10 p.m. to 10 a.m., wasn’t just about serving pancakes; it symbolized the long, sleepless nights endured by the children of St. Jude and their families as they battle life-threatening illnesses.

Tri Delta’s commitment to St. Jude is deeply rooted in the organization’s mission. Since establishing their partnership in 1999, Tri Delta chapters across the country have raised over $100 million to help ensure that no family ever receives a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing, or food. The late-night nature of DHOP is especially meaningful, reminding participants of the strength and endurance shown by the families who face sleepless nights in hospital rooms while their children receive care.

Community involvement played a huge role in DHOP’s success. Local businesses donated tons of raffle prizes, while student organizations helped promote the event across campus. Many attendees stayed long after midnight, bringing friends and classmates to join in the fun and give to the cause.

By morning, the smell of syrup and coffee still lingered in the air, but what remained most was a powerful sense of unity and gratitude. Tri Delta’s DHOP once again demonstrated how college students can turn a simple idea, serving pancakes, into a movement that changes lives. As the chapter reflected on their almost $40,000 achievement, members expressed excitement for the future and pride in continuing Tri Delta’s national commitment to ending childhood cancer.
