By day, we wandered the cobbled streets of Old Sacramento, where every storefront tells a story. The variety of shops was striking—antique treasures, quirky souvenirs, handcrafted goods, tasty treats, and specialty boutiques lined the district. Exploring felt like a treasure hunt, with something unexpected around every corner. The charm of Old Sacramento is that it’s not just shopping; it’s an experience layered with history and character.

 

One of the highlights of our trip came after sunset at Laughs Unlimited, a local comedy club known for its intimate atmosphere and lively shows. We happened upon a comedy competition that night, and it was a non-stop ride of energy and laughter. The talent was impressive, the crowd electric, and the evening left us with cheeks sore from smiling—a must for anyone looking to add a dose of lol's to their itinerary.

 

After a weekend filled with history, humor, and relaxation, we boarded the train back home with a renewed sense of energy. The initial delay felt like a distant memory, overshadowed by the moments of joy, discovery, and connection we’d experienced. The train rides were absolutely decompressing...I felt all my stresses dissolve and highly recommend this type of a quick get-a-way!
