A Sea of Green for the Texas Hill Country

In response to the devastating floods that recently struck the Texas Hill Country, a beautiful movement of hope and unity was born

A movement has taken root across Texas, with people tying green bows in public spaces as a visible sign of support for flood victims. “We truly are all neighbors,” said Mosely, the founder of this movement. “I know God’s pretty proud that Texans can really stick together because it’s unbelievable what happened.”

With all the flooding in Kerr County, there are countless volunteers helping. The Lone Star Cowboy Church has been working hard to help feed these search and rescue volunteers on top of many others. They have filled a freezer trailer with approximately 5000 lbs of meat (that the Sam's in Conroe generously provided at a discounted price) and don’t plan to stop there. Although Kerr County is a long way away, Texas sticks together. Inspired by these efforts, Lake Windcrest resident Rhonda Redmon stepped up to rally a group of neighbors to bring the green bow effort to the neighborhood.

With a generous donation from SpeedPro and Lone Pint Brewery, the cost of supplies was completely covered to  launch this project. After gathering to make the green bows, they adorned mailboxes throughout the neighborhood. This was a way to visually say, “We see you. We’re with you.”  As green bows ripple through our area and across the state, we’re reminded that even in the hardest times, we're stronger together.

Please keep the families of the Texas Hill Country in your thoughts and prayers.  Help us keep raising funds so we can continue taking meat and resources to them. Venmo @RhondaRedmon to contribute towards these ongoing efforts.
