The Hagy Family!

Steve and Aileen Hagy have lived in the neighborhood since 2021 and told us more about their lives!

Aileen is an Army brat who grew up in parts of Virginia. Her family settled in California in 1977 when her father retired after 22 years. Steve is a native Californian who grew up in Hidden Hills. The two stayed in California for college, both attending the University of Southern California, which is where their love story began.

“Steve and I met my freshman year,” Aileen shares. “We met at a fraternity rush party that I went to with a friend from high school. Steve was starting his senior year. We dated for four years and celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary in October.”

Both graduated with degrees in business administration and finance. Today, Steve is a senior portfolio manager with UBS Financial Services, and Aileen is a REALTOR® and the co-founder of Concept Fine Homes & Estates, now at Compass.

They have three grown children. Their daughter, Jessica, and her husband, Kyle, have two daughters, Gwen and Edith, and are the owners of Reds BBQ in Simi Valley; their son Steve has twins, Hudson and Thayer, and works as a managing analyst; and their son John and his wife, Joyce, have a daughter, Jean, and he works as a portfolio manager at UBS.

With the kids out of the house, they share their home with their beloved pitbull terrier rescues, Bodi (3.5) and Mr. Pickles (4 months old).

Traditions & Hobbies
Aileen and Steve take their whole family (a party of 13!) on vacation once a year. This year, they hopped over to Hawaii for not only vacation but to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary. They had such a great time together!

“When the children were young, we had a tradition that I would make my mother-in-law’s breakfast sausage casserole every Christmas morning.” Aileen reflects on some traditions from the past. “ … We open our gifts one at a time from oldest to youngest in age. This has become more challenging to be together with all three children having families of their own!”

As for hobbies, Steve loves to go to the golf course at Sherwood Country Club and race his sports car or go boating on his new sport fishing/cruise boat. Aileen also enjoys golfing and is trying to get out on the course more, and taking the pups on a walk through the neighborhood. Any time with her grandkids — her “nana time” — is also extremely important.

Charity & Community
Over the years, the Hagys have volunteered their time to several causes. Aileen has been part of the National Charity League and was the president of Centennial Guild LA, which raised funds for the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. She’s currently supporting Sherwood Cares and James Storehouse.

When it comes to Lake Sherwood, there is no better place. The serenity and calmness are something one can’t find in any other neighborhood.

For those new, they share, “Get out and enjoy the walk around the lake!”
