From helping clients navigate changing insurance markets to ensuring families and businesses have the protection they need, Chris Just has built his agency on local service, trusted guidance, and genuine care for the community.
Chris Just's journey toward business ownership began with a simple goal: to help people while owning a business he could be proud of.
"From the beginning, I knew I wanted to help people and own my own business," Chris says. "In 2009, this vision became a reality when I purchased an Allstate Insurance agency, bringing my skills together in a successful operation."
Chris has been a Greensboro resident since middle school, graduating from Page High School before earning a degree in Organizational Leadership at Mercer University. During college, he also served in the Marine Corps Reserves. After marrying his wife, Beth, in 1999, the couple moved to Canton, Georgia, where Chris worked for a large insurance agency specializing in the auto industry. After 10 years with the agency, Chris was ready to realize the vision he had long held for his career.
"I had researched the Allstate company and was impressed with what I learned," he says. "When I heard that a Greensboro-area agent was ready to retire, I knew this was the perfect opportunity for me to own my own business and be in a position to really help people."
Comprehensive Services for Every Need
Chris's Allstate agency provides comprehensive coverage tailored to meet a variety of needs. Their offerings include property and casualty insurance, covering auto, home, renters, pet, landlord, motorcycle, boat, RV, and personal umbrella policies. They also specialize in financial protection products, such as life, disability, and long-term care insurance, as well as retirement planning with the help of a financial specialist to help safeguard clients' nest eggs.
Personal lines insurance remains the agency's "bread and butter," but Chris and his team also provide commercial coverage for small- to medium-sized businesses. Through Allstate's Ivantage Program, they have access to a network of additional carriers, allowing them to offer competitive options tailored to each client's needs. Business insurance has become one of the agency's fastest-growing areas of service.
Chris and his team's commitment to comprehensive service and client care has earned the agency accolades, including Allstate's prestigious Pinnacle Elite award multiple years, placing them among the top 1% of Allstate agencies nationwide.
Most recently, Chris acquired another Allstate agency in Reidsville and merged it into his Greensboro operation. Many of those clients live in the Lake Jeanette and northern Greensboro area, and Chris wants them to know they are in good hands with his team.
In recent years, he has also expanded by acquiring agencies in Kernersville, King, and Winston-Salem, consolidating operations into his Greensboro and Clemmons offices. Today, his team includes 20 insurance professionals across the two locations. Several have been with him since the early days of the agency, while others have built long careers alongside him. Some team members work remotely in customer service and sales roles, helping the agency maintain both efficiency and accessibility.
"When you call us, you speak to someone local," Chris emphasizes. "We know our community, and we're here to help, whether that means visiting a home to assess storm damage or guiding customers through policy decisions."
Community Engagement and Family Life
Throughout the years, Chris has supported a variety of community organizations through both volunteer efforts and charitable giving. Most recently, he secured a $1,000 grant for Backpack Beginnings, where Beth also volunteers. He has also helped direct support to organizations including Hospice of Greensboro and Little Pink Houses of Hope through collaborative projects with fellow Allstate agents.
Claims are where Chris believes his agency makes the greatest difference.
"At the end of the day, this is why people buy insurance," he says. "It's to help take care of bad situations when they arise."
One experience stands out in particular. After a local husband and father died unexpectedly, his widow contacted the agency unsure whether he had life insurance coverage. He did. Chris and his team guided her through the claims process, and Chris personally delivered the benefit check.
"It was very satisfying being able to deliver that check," he says. "Without that policy, she would have had to sell the home and face serious financial challenges while raising children on her own. That's why we try to have life insurance conversations with all of our customers. It's so important for families."
That same commitment to connection carries over to Chris's everyday work. He encourages clients to review their insurance policies annually, ensuring their coverage keeps pace with life's changes.
"This is an important reason why an insurance professional can make all the difference," Chris explains. "When things in your life change, you want to make sure you have insurance to cover those changes. Sometimes what you think you have isn't what you actually have or need."
Clients often express gratitude for his guidance in uncovering areas where additional coverage would offer greater security.
"Helping clients understand their policies and ensuring they're fully protected gives everyone peace of mind," Chris says. "It's rewarding to know I'm helping them feel more secure, no matter what life brings."
At home, Chris and Beth are enjoying their "empty nest" phase. Their younger son, Andrew, is a senior in college, while their older son, Gregory, has graduated and begun his career. Chris stays active playing tennis at the Lake Jeanette Swim and Tennis Club and on USTA teams. Beth volunteers in the community while also assisting with marketing and operations at the agency. Together, they enjoy traveling and spending time at their beach house with family and friends.
Their connection to the community remains strong, both personally and professionally.
"We're fortunate to do what we do in a community we care about," Chris says. "Whether it's helping someone prepare for the future or guiding them through a difficult time, being there for people when they need us most is what it's all about."
