February 13 – Arbor Day | Liberty Tree Planting
Location: Lake Caroline Park
The celebration officially begins with the planting of a Liberty Tree, commemorating the historic American Elm that stood near Boston Common from 1646–1775 and became a powerful symbol of resistance and unity during the American Revolution.
The Lake Caroline Garden Club will lead a ceremonial planting to mark the kickoff of the community’s America250 celebration.
April 18 – Paul Revere’s Ride Children’s Event
Location: Martinique Clubhouse
Time: 9:00–11:00 AM
An interactive children’s program bringing history to life through storytelling and hands-on activities centered on Paul Revere’s Midnight Ride.
Children will create lanterns, tricorn hats, and stick ponies, participate in a “Midnight Ride Relay,” and enjoy photo opportunities with a visiting horse.
Residents are encouraged to turn on porch lights that evening in recognition of this historic event (“Paul Revere Light It Up” night).

May 23 – Memorial Day Children’s Remembrance
Location: Lake Caroline Park
Time: 9:00–11:00 AM (Come-and-Go Event)
Children will honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice by creating poppy flowers to distribute throughout the community, crafting “Remembrance 250 Rocks,” and drawing American flag chalk murals.
The event emphasizes gratitude, reflection, and service.

June 5–7 – Patriot Games Pickleball Weekend
A weekend of fellowship and friendly competition:
  • Friday, June 5 (5:00 PM): Family pickleball night for children, parents, and grandparents
  • Saturday, June 6: All-day pickleball mixer
  • Sunday, June 7: Afternoon mixer
Community members interested in assisting with planning are encouraged to contact the Lake Caroline HOA.

June 6 – Veteran’s Parade & Community Salute
Parade: 8:30 AM | Martinique Clubhouse to Bellevue Clubhouse
A signature America250 event honoring local veterans riding in antique, law enforcement, and military vehicles. Residents are invited to line the route waving American flags.
Additional events:
  • Veterans Breakfast at the Bellevue Clubhouse
  • Confirmed speakers from the Mississippi National Guard and a chaplain
  • Touch-A-Vehicle Event (10:00 AM–12:00 PM) featuring police, fire, sheriff, and Mississippi Army National Guard vehicles
  • Lunch provided for first responders
June 13 – Flag Day Children’s Celebration
Location: Main Clubhouse
Children will learn about Betsy Ross and the history of the American flag through storytelling and crafts, including the creation of 250 stars to assemble into a large commemorative flag displayed through July 4.
Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts will assist with respectful retirement of worn American flags.
A red, white, and blue picnic will conclude the event.

June 18 – American250 Golf Tournament
Location: Lake Caroline Golf Course
Hosted in partnership with the Madison County Sheriff’s Department.
Proceeds benefit the Madison County Sheriff’s Office Foundation (501(c)(3)), supporting officers and their families during times of need.
Morning and afternoon tee times available. Sponsorships include on-course contests, gifts, and prize money.

June 27 – Children’s Living History Production: “The Boston Tea Party”
Location: Bellevue Clubhouse
Time: 9:00–11:00 AM
In collaboration with the Madison County Daughters of the American Revolution, children ages 5–11 will reenact the Boston Tea Party, concluding with a symbolic “emptying of tea into the lake.”
25 children volunteers needed to participate in the skit.

July 4 – Independence Day CelebrationsCommunity Tent & Boat Parade Competitions
Families will decorate tents and boats representing different eras of American history.
America250 Bike Parade, Walk & Patriot Games
Time: 8:00–10:00 AM
Route: Martinique Clubhouse to Bellevue Clubhouse
Includes historical games, family competitions, and children’s activities.
Fireworks Finale – July 4 (Evening)
A major fireworks display branded with America250 Mississippi logos, welcoming families from across central Mississippi.
