Meet Christa Elyce McCourt

with Houston Studio LLC and Kingwood Business Women LLC

I had a wonderfully nomadic upbringing thanks to my father’s military career. I’ve called many places home—Hawaii, Maryland, Turkey, Georgia, South Carolina, Washington State—and I even graduated high school in Belgium. After graduation, I moved to England for a few years before eventually settling in Houston to raise my growing family (and to escape the bland cuisine!).
Today, I’m a proud mother of three incredible kids: Winter (20), a free-spirited creative with a heart of gold; Brighton (16), a gamer and muscle car enthusiast; and Molly (13), my artistic mini-me. I’m married to Malcolm, a Glasgow-born occupational psychologist in the oil and gas industry. We’ve been married for three years, and he’s a man of many interests—motorcycles, rosé, and a competitive streak on the pickleball and tennis courts.
My career journey began in high school as the photographer and designer of our yearbook. I loved the thrill of being on assignment—capturing people in their element, doing what they love. After graduating and moving back to the U.S., it felt natural to pick up my camera again. What started as a creative passion quickly evolved into a career.
I launched my photography business in the wedding industry and experienced incredible success. I became an award-winning photographer with features in both domestic and international wedding magazines and blogs. But as my children grew, the weekend demands of weddings began pulling me away from the moments that mattered most at home. That’s when I made the pivot into branding photography—helping women in business tell their stories visually and create customized content to elevate their brands. I've now been a photographer and entrepreneur for over 20 years.
In 2021, following the pandemic and the Texas Valentine's Day freeze, my family relocated from Houston to Kingwood. I didn’t know anyone in the area, and I quickly realized there wasn’t a central place for businesswomen to connect, collaborate, and genuinely support one another. So, I created one.
That idea became Kingwood Business Women—an association built to champion women entrepreneurs. Our first major event, KBW Business & Brunch, sold out with 200 attendees at Kingwood Country Club. Since then, we’ve grown to 80+ members, hosted over 128 events, and become the largest and most influential women’s networking association in Northeast Houston. We’re currently planning our 5th annual Business & Brunch, returning to Kingwood Country Club on March 7, 2026.
I’m also the creative director and master photographer of Houston Studio, a full-service branding and commercial photography company where my team and I specialize in creating powerful visual content (photos and video)for entrepreneurs, small businesses, and established brands. I started my photography business because I genuinely love creating beautiful images—I always have. Photography has been my creative language since high school, and I realized early on that I had a gift for telling stories through imagery.
As I evolved in my career, I discovered an even deeper passion: helping other business owners succeed by giving them the tools—especially the visuals—to market themselves with confidence and clarity. I started Houston Studio to do exactly that. Our work doesn’t just look beautiful—it’s built to convert, to communicate, and to elevate a brand’s presence across every platform.
At Houston Studio, we don’t just take photos—we tell brand stories. With nearly 20 years of experience behind the lens, I’ve built a full-service creative studio that specializes in custom branding photography and commercial content that helps entrepreneurs, small businesses, and corporations connect with their next 1,000 customers. Every shoot is intentional and tailored to reflect a brand’s personality, audience, and marketing goals. We’re not a one-size-fits-all studio—we’re collaborators, visual communicators, and creative partners. Our work doesn’t just look good—it converts.
What truly makes us different is that we get our clients. As a woman in business myself, I understand the power of visual identity and the pressure of wearing all the hats. We bring ease to the branding process, combining strategy with style to help entrepreneurs show up powerfully and consistently across all platforms.
Then there’s Kingwood Business Women—my heart project turned powerhouse. KBW isn’t just a networking group; it’s a movement. We’re intentional about building an uplifting, FOMO-worthy community where collaboration trumps competition. We host elevated, curated events that feel more like experiences than meetups, designed to grow your business, increase visibility, and build lasting connections. With over 80 members and 128+ events hosted, we’ve redefined what it means to be a modern businesswoman in the Northeast Houston area.
At the core of both brands is a mission to elevate and support the business community and women throughout Houston —visually, professionally, and communally.
