Meet Kings Point’s Rachel Phetteplace
Mom, Neighbor, and Co-Founder of My Mommy Village!

Nathalie and Rachel
Life in the Lake Houston area is full of hidden gems—and one of them is a new business for the area – My Mommy Village, co-founded by Kings Point resident Rachel Phetteplace! My Mommy Village is a local business that’s all about helping families thrive. A mom of two, community connector, and deeply rooted in her mission to support others, Rachel brings both heart and hustle to everything she does.
Originally from a small town in Western New York, just south of Buffalo, Rachel’s journey took her to Cleveland, Ohio, where she earned dual master’s degrees in social science administration (social work) and Bioethics from Case Western Reserve University. She spent the early part of her career working in healthcare—first in bioethics, then in green healthcare initiatives, and later in human research protections.
After moving to Houston ten years ago with her husband, Brandon, Rachel began to explore how she could continue making an impact closer to home. With Brandon’s demanding travel schedule as a consultant in the geotechnical engineering industry and a growing desire to be more rooted in the community, Rachel shifted gears professionally. She became a business owner and publisher, launching The Crown magazine (now Stroll Kings Point) with N2 Publishing. When her daughter was a toddler, she transitioned into PR consulting and dedicated more time to family life in their new neighborhood.
The Phetteplaces moved to Kings Point three years ago and quickly fell in love with the neighborhood’s welcoming spirit. This summer, Rachel and Brandon will celebrate 15 years of marriage! Their two kids, Sadie (6) and Harrison (3), keep them on their toes with all the joy and energy of early childhood.
In February 2025 (and a year in the making), Rachel teamed up with longtime friend and fellow mom Nathalie Delwaide—who lives just next door in Foster’s Mill—to launch My Mommy Village, a digital platform created by moms, for moms! Nathalie, originally from Belgium, but living in Kingwood for 25 years, brings a finance and fundraising background. Nathalie and her husband, Frederic, are parents to three young daughters—Emily (6), Caroline (4) and Margaux (2).
The idea for My Mommy Village came naturally. Like many moms, Rachel and Nathalie found strength and sanity in a small group of local friends, their village—sharing everything from pediatrician tips and summer camp recommendations to “help, I need a plumber to remove the toy torpedoed down my toilet!” emergencies. That tight-knit support system which grew throughout motherhood, became the inspiration for something bigger: a platform where all local moms (and families) could easily access trusted businesses, local events, helpful information, and real-time community support. Rachel and Nathalie are truly grateful that they have been able to lean-in, celebrate, (and at times, commiserate!), motherhood and want this for other moms and families!
With its tagline “Connecting Moms. Elevating Local,” My Mommy Village offers a fresh, user-friendly way to navigate family life in the Lake Houston Area. The website and phone app feature four main pillars: a curated business directory, local deals, community events, and engaging articles. Every listing is vetted by Rachel and Nathalie, ensuring quality and personal connection remain at the heart of what they do, without negative online banter.
What makes the platform stand out is its genuine, grassroots feel. Built from the ground up with intention, My Mommy Village supports families in every season. For new moms learning to navigate sleepless nights and nursing, to seasoned moms prepping for graduation and goodbyes, and newcomers learning about the Lake Houston Area and humidity(!), My Mommy Village is all inclusive, recognizing the need for on-demand support and connection. Not only is My Mommy Village a hub for finding businesses and resources, it’s also a hub for businesses!
Rachel and Nathalie’s hope is that every mom and family find their “village”—the people, places, and local gems that make life a little easier and a lot more joyful. “We are all very fortunate to live in this beautiful neighborhood. Hard work does not come without sacrifice, and we can share our stories on a deeper level.” Rachel goes on to note that so many of us are raising kiddos or are seasoned parents or grandparents and we have so much to give. Whether it’s advice, a listening ear, an unplanned playdate or wine date, we have the opportunity for connection and friendship. We are not meant to do life alone.
Rachel also underscores that we can support local. Local businesses are the cornerstone of the Lake Houston Area. Whether it’s a local mom making beautiful vinyl mugs and shirts in her dining room or a new restaurant employing wait staff and chefs, we can support them. Much like Stroll Kings Point, the goal at My Mommy Village is to showcase and support both little businesses and big businesses as they all deserve a chance to earn our business!
If you own a business or have businesses to recommend, please reach out to Rachel to be included on the My Mommy Village website and app!
When she's not co-running My Mommy Village or shuttling around her kiddos, Rachel enjoys travel, family time, and celebrating everyday wins. She and her family are proud to call Kings Point home and are grateful for the friendships, fun, and sense of community they’ve found here!
