Meet Jenny Britt & King Arthur
Walking With Purpose on Isle of Hope

If you’ve ever passed a gentle-eyed Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named King Arthur trotting happily beside his human along Bluff Drive, you’ve likely encountered Jenny Britt. With her friendly smile and kind presence, Jenny is more than a familiar face — she’s a source of energy and encouragement on Isle of Hope.
Originally from Long Island’s Gold Coast, Jenny moved to Savannah five years ago to join the leadership team at Savannah Country Day School. Though she had never visited before, the decision to settle on Isle of Hope felt instantly right. “I was blessed to find a place I love so much, sight unseen,” she said.
A specialist in learning differences, Jenny holds degrees in psychology and special education from Hofstra University and Long Island University. She’s also an associate member of the Orton Gillingham Academy and recently relaunched her private practice, Low Country Dyslexia Specialist. Her approach is tailored and transformative, focused on building confidence as much as competence.
This summer, she’s expanding her reach with a free digital course for parents navigating educational evaluations. Her goal? To make the process feel less overwhelming and more empowering.
Jenny’s influence ripples far beyond her practice. She volunteers with the Junior League of Savannah, is a member of the Wymberley Garden Club and the Isle of Hope Historical Association, and helped establish the Savannah Mahjong League. She’s now co-designing a Savannah-inspired Mahjong set—a playful tribute to Lowcountry life.
An avid sailor, Jenny once captained her 26-foot Catalina, Cape Winds, in Sea Cliff, New York. These days, she enjoys helping students gain sailing experience through a partnership between Savannah Country Day and the Savannah Yacht Club. On land, she plays tennis at Bacon Park and rarely misses a morning walk with King Arthur and their circle of canine companions.
She’s a regular at local spots like Cutter’s Point, Auspicious, and the Emily McCarthy Shoppe, and she actively supports educational equity through Horizons Savannah. Her grown children—Sydney, Johnny, and Jodie—are each following creative paths up north, but remain close in spirit.
Whether she’s mentoring students, volunteering, or just spreading joy one walk at a time, Jenny Britt exemplifies what makes Isle of Hope shine: generosity, connection, and heart.
