For more than four decades, Southern Dental Center has been a cornerstone of oral health in Savannah. Today, under the skilled leadership of Dr. Andrew Cupp, the practice continues to grow—rooted in compassion, comfort, and community.

Dr. Cupp, a Chicago native and Purdue University graduate, completed his dental training at Midwestern University in Downers Grove, IL before relocating to Savannah nine years ago to join Southern Dental Center. “We aim to make dentistry as relaxed and approachable as possible,” he says. “We want you to feel like you're at home here.”

From routine cleanings and emergency care to implants, cosmetic work, whitening, and Invisalign, Southern Dental Center offers full-service general dentistry with a personal touch. Patients often stay for decades—and refer friends and family—thanks to the team's warm, relatable approach and top-tier care.

Community service is baked into the practice. The team regularly donates oral care supplies to schools and churches, offers whitening appointments to support local fundraisers, and participates in back-to-school drives. “We believe in giving back to the community we serve,” says Dr. Cupp.

Voted Connect Savannah's “Best Dentist” in both 2024 and 2025, Southern Dental Center is expanding to meet demand, welcoming a new doctor and hygienist this summer.

Outside the office, Dr. Cupp—who has rescued five animals with his wife Katie, the publisher of Stroll Isle of Hope—is also a foster parent and adoptive dad. He finds joy in family life and his daily motorcycle commute through the Hostess City.

His advice to locals? “Stay local, shop local, and support your neighbors.”
