Wells Mingledorff Loves a Bluff Stroll

On many afternoons along the Isle of Hope Bluff, you might spot a small apricot Cavapoo named Wells Mingledorff trotting down the path beneath the live oaks, ears bouncing and nose working overtime.

At just six months old, Wells has already become a devoted Bluff stroller. For him, the walk isn’t so much about exercise as it is about investigation. The salty breeze from the Skidaway River carries a whole world of interesting smells, and Wells is determined not to miss a single one.

Of course, the Bluff isn’t just famous for its views — it’s also Isle of Hope’s unofficial social hub. And Wells takes that responsibility very seriously.
Neighbors, visiting families, joggers, cyclists, and fellow dogs are all fair game for a cheerful greeting. Tail wagging enthusiastically, Wells is always happy to pause for a scratch behind the ears or a quick introduction. In his opinion, no stroll is complete without meeting a few new friends.

Like many Bluff regulars, Wells has a lively personality. According to his dad, he’s still polishing his manners and occasionally lets his puppy enthusiasm get the best of him. But with his fluffy apricot curls and bright puppy eyes, Wells has already mastered one important Isle of Hope skill — winning people over.

At home, Wells shares life with three sisters, who are easily his favorite companions. Whether they’re playing in the yard or joining him for a sunset stroll along the Bluff, he’s happiest when his whole crew is together.

For Wells, Bluff Drive is his puppy paradise — shady oaks overhead, boats drifting along the river, friendly neighbors around every corner, and endless opportunities for adventure. And if you happen to see him while strolling along the Bluff, be sure to say hello — he’s quite certain you came out specifically to meet him!
