Eric Yablonka and Sari Heitner have only been living in Ibis for four months, but they feel right at home amidst the pleasant weather, abundant wildlife, engaging activities, and friendly people. Little did they know two falls ago that their lives were about to change with the arrival of Fred.

Fred, a female Mini Australian Labradoodle, entered their lives unexpectedly. Eric and Sari had been searching for a furry companion, and fate led them to a small family-owned breeder in Wisconsin. At first, they had planned to name her Dizzy, inspired by Dizzy Gillespie's iconic white beard, which Fred sports as well. However, they settled on the name Fred, finding its simplicity endearing. She is currently 1 ½ years old. 

From the moment Fred joined their family, her timid yet sweet demeanor captured their hearts. She quickly became a beloved member, known for her affectionate nature and love for making new dog friends. Fred's favorite pastimes included catching balls, chasing frisbees, and playing with her stuffed hedgehog. She adores freeze-dried treats, yogurt, and peanut butter, her excitement is evident in her joyful barks whenever playtime commences.

One of Eric and Sari's fondest memories with Fred was the day they met her, surrounded by her littermates and loving mother at just five weeks old. That moment marked the beginning of countless adventures together, exploring the neighborhood and forging lasting friendships at the Ibis dog park.

Among Fred's favorite playmates are Scottie, Shula, Putter, Rocky, Theo, and Owen. She relishes their company during leisurely walks around the Woodlands.

However, if Fred could choose any adventure, she would undoubtedly opt for a day at the beach. The thought of sandy shores and crashing waves filled her with boundless excitement, her tail wagging in anticipation of the salty breeze and endless stretches of coastline.

As Eric and Sari settle into their new community here they can’t help but feel grateful for the joy Fred has brought into their lives. Her presence transformed ordinary days into cherished memories, reminding them of the simple pleasures found in companionship and shared adventures.
