Ulm Plastic Surgery

New Year, New You

Where did you grow up, how long have you lived in the area? Tell us about your family.
I grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana. My father was a physician, and my mother was a dental hygienist who founded the local Alzheimer’s Association. Giving back to the community and providing medical care were integral parts of my upbringing. I also spent considerable time each year visiting Daufuskie Island and the Lowcountry.

We have lived in Charleston / Mount Pleasant since 2010, and three of our four children were born at East Cooper Medical Center. All of them have attended Mount Pleasant Academy, with two currently at Moultrie Middle School and one at Lucy Beckham High School.

Tell us about the events that led up to where you are now (education, career path, etc).
I completed my General Surgery training at Rutgers University in New Jersey before entering plastic surgery training at MUSC. I was fortunate enough to complete a fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard, where I worked as an instructor in Plastic Surgery to Harvard residents and trained with world-renowned plastic surgeons, including Dr. Yaremchuk, who specializes in aesthetic and craniofacial surgery. There, I learned the latest techniques in facial aesthetic surgery as well as complex reconstruction and craniofacial surgery. I then returned to MUSC to join the faculty, specializing in craniofacial, breast, and aesthetic surgery.

What is your business, and how / why did you start it?
I founded Ulm Plastic Surgery in 2018 while still at MUSC to offer aesthetic surgical services. In 2021, I partnered with Southeastern Plastic Surgery (now Crantford Costa Plastic Surgery) because their philosophy and goals aligned with mine: "to provide the best patient experience both in and out of the operating room."

What is unique about your business & what sets it apart from the rest?
What sets our business apart is our unwavering commitment to delivering a superior patient experience through a personalized approach. We focus on tailoring our services to meet each individual's unique needs and preferences, ensuring every patient receives a customized plan that aligns with their goals. By prioritizing individualized results and employing the latest techniques and technologies, we strive for optimal outcomes in every case. This combination of personalized care and cutting-edge solutions helps us deliver exceptional results and fosters a patient-centric environment that truly distinguishes us from the rest.

What kinds of services / products do you provide, and what can a patient expect from hiring you?
At CC Plastic Surgery, we offer a full range of aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgery services. This includes facial aesthetic surgery, breast surgery, body contouring, and advanced craniofacial procedures. We also provide non-surgical treatments such as injectables and skin rejuvenation services.  When a patient hires us, they can expect a highly personalized approach. From the initial consultation to post-operative care, we are committed to understanding their goals and crafting a treatment plan tailored to achieve the best possible outcomes. Our focus is on creating natural, lasting results while ensuring a comfortable and supportive experience throughout the entire process.

Given your expertise, what advice can you offer to Old Village residents?
My advice to the community is to seek out qualified, board-certified plastic surgeons for any aesthetic or reconstructive procedures. It's important to work with a surgeon who takes the time to listen and truly understand your goals, not just someone offering a “one-size-fits-all” approach. Whether it’s a small tweak or a major transformation, always choose a provider who prioritizes safety, quality, and personalized care. Additionally, for anyone considering non-surgical options like injectables, it's crucial to have these performed by skilled professionals in a medical setting to ensure the best results and avoid complications.

What else should we know about you, your family, or your business?
Our family lives in Mt Pleasant and is dedicated to supporting the community that has welcomed us. We are raising our four children here and are actively involved in local efforts that promote health, education, and wellness. At Ulm Plastic Surgery (CC Plastic Surgery), we see ourselves as part of the community and are passionate about helping our neighbors look and feel their best.
