Hello, Neighbors, Friends and Sponsors,
Finding joy in June just goes hand in hand! It's an easy month of sunshine, flowers and perfect weather. I know I'll be up for all types of outdoor adventures so stay tuned.
Last month, I joyfully spent time with friends during an exceptionally busy weekend. It started with a wonderful tablescape tutorial by dear friend and designer, Alison Womack Jowers at the Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles’ 2024 Southeastern Showhouse benefiting Camp Twin Lakes. She's truly creative and an inspiration for making all occasions feel special. Later that evening, I joined Lisa and her daughter Frances along with our friend Ramie at Bourbon & Burgers is an annual fundraiser for Chastain Horse Park's Therapeutic Program. I'm not big on bourbon but Grindhouse Burgers made waiting in line worth it, yummy! I also won a couple auction items and I don't know about y'all but spending for a cause makes it so worthwhile. It's a big win - win!
To work off those burgers and desserts the next day, I took a long walk with friends Nicole and Julie along the beltline. The Atlanta BeltLine is a miles long non-profit path connecting intown neighborhoods leading to shops and restaurants. This of course led to brunch at BeetleCat, located in the Inman Park neighborhood. It's a quirky little restaurant with an outdoor patio and fun Donut Brunch menu. One dish called, CAPTAIN’S FAVORITE “ALL IN” SPICY CHICKEN SANDWICH includes glazed donuts, and hot sauce with a sunny egg. Yes...we walked again after eating!
It's the perfect spot to celebrate your dad or father figure on June 16th, Happy Father's Day. Wherever you find joy, may it always include friends like family, foods worth waiting on and giving back never hurts!
Speaking of friends, please welcome our newest sponsor Pool Troopers! Since 1952, Pool Troopers has been a leader in pool cleaning and maintenance. Their ultimate goal is to ensure your pool is always sparkling blue and swim-safe, whenever family and friends want to enjoy it.
In closing, I'd like to say that I'm forever grateful to our business partners who make this community-written magazine free to all the residents. A huge thank you to the many residents who contribute by sending in stories and neighborhood updates. Stroll Historic Brookhaven (also known as Historic Brookhaven Living) would not exist without the support of our community.
I look forward to meeting more incredible people in the area and sharing your stories.
With Much Gratitude,
Cynthia Carns
