Blackberry Bourbon BBQ Sauce
This recipe adds a twist to summer cookouts with grilled steak glazed in Blackberry Bourbon BBQ Sauce. Made from a classic base, the sauce is spiked with bourbon, brown sugar, and fresh blackberries. It’s perfect on steak—and just as tasty on grilled chicken or pork.

Ingredients
1/3 cup Dijon mustard
1/4 cup ketchup
1/4 cup molasses
1/4 cup honey
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 cup ketchup
1/4 cup molasses
1/4 cup honey
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 cup bourbon
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1/4 cup blackberries
Directions
Measure out the first 7 ingredients and place them into a small saucepan. Place the pan over a low flame, stirring to combine, and heat for 3-4 minutes. Turn off the heat and set aside.
In a second small saucepan, add 1/2 cup of bourbon and heat over high heat until the bourbon reduces to 1/4 cup. This will take roughly 10 minutes. Stir in 2 tablespoons of brown sugar and cook for 2-3 minutes, dissolving the sugar. Turn off the heat.
Add the bourbon mixture to the prepared BBQ sauce, stirring to combine. Stir in the blackberries, cooking over medium heat until the blackberries soften. Taste for seasoning, adding more black pepper as desired.
