A Sweet New Arrival: Meet Madelyn Nicole Marshall
There’s a brand-new little neighbor bringing extra sweetness to the community, and her name is Madelyn Nicole Marshall— also known lovingly as Maddy.
Madelyn arrived on November 4, 2025, at 11:03 p.m., weighing 6 pounds, 11.9 ounces, and measuring 19.39 inches long. From the very beginning, she has lived up to the one-word description her parents use most often: sweet—with an easy-going, peaceful presence that has settled right into family life.
Her name holds special meaning. Nicole and Jonathan Marshall knew they wanted a name that felt right in their hearts—and they let big brother help decide. “We were between a few different ‘M’ names,” Nicole shared. “When James said ‘Madelyn,’ his face just lit up. We knew immediately it was meant to be.” Madelyn’s middle name, Nicole, honors her mom and continues a cherished family tradition of passing names down through generations—just as big brother James Henry carries the names of both Jonathan and Nicole’s grandfathers.
At just 4 years old, James has taken his role as big brother very seriously. In fact, he started preparing weeks before Madelyn arrived—by opening every box of diapers in the house and organizing them by size. Convinced she would need size 4 diapers, he created a carefully managed stash under his bed. To this day, he distributes diapers sparingly when the changing table runs low. He’s also offered to help with diaper duty—with one important condition: “Only the pee-pee ones.”
James loves holding his baby sister, laying beside her on her play mat, and proudly pushing her stroller whenever he gets the chance. He’s quick to tell anyone who will listen, “Look at my baby sister—she’s sooo beautiful.” Jonathan and Nicole couldn’t be prouder of the bond already forming. “Watching James step into his role has been one of the sweetest surprises,” they shared.
Music already plays a gentle role in Madelyn’s days, with “You Are My Sunshine” as Mom’s favorite song to sing to her—a fitting lullaby for a baby who has brought so much light with her.
There’s even a little magic in the timing of her arrival. Madelyn and James both celebrate November birthdays and share the same birthstone—citrine. And with Mom’s favorite number being four, Nicole had a feeling Maddy would arrive on November 4. “I joked with the doctors that her birth time should be 11:04 p.m.,” she laughed. Madelyn arrived just one minute earlier—close enough to make the story even sweeter.
With loving parents, a devoted big brother, and a home already filled with tradition and joy, Madelyn Nicole Marshall is deeply loved and warmly welcomed.
Welcome to the neighborhood, sweet Madelyn!
