A Day in the Life of Ollie Boo Doodle Doo
Hidden Lake’s Resident Sunshine Chaser & Veggie Lover, Ollie, is a five-year-old golden doodle who loves long walks, veggie treats, and sunbathing in the brightest spots. Known for his happy spins and loyal heart, he’s always ready to share snuggles and make new friends.
Hi, neighbors! It’s me — Ollie! (Or as my humans like to call me: Ollie Boo Doodle Doo. Fancy, right?)
I’m five years old, part golden retriever, part poodle, and 100% fun. My humans — Laksh, Rachel, and my little buddy Nik — moved here to Hidden Lake in July 2024, and I gotta say… this place is paw-some. So many smells, sunny spots, and friendly faces!
You’re probably wondering how I ended up with my family. Well, it was love at first Zoom. They came to meet me during that strange time humans called “the pandemic,” and when I saw them, I ran straight to their car and jumped in. Obviously, we were meant to be.
Now, life is pretty sweet. I get to go on long walks (yes, even in the snow — love it!), snack on my favorite treats (veggie chews, sweet peppers, carrots... yum!), and every night, I look forward to my bedtime dental chew. A guy’s gotta keep his smile sparkling, after all.
When I’m excited — which is often — I spin in circles. My humans laugh, but hey, it works. I also have a morning ritual of snuggles (the best), and I’m known around the house for finding the sunniest spots and stretching out like a champ. Why nap in the shade when you can sunbathe?
Lately, I’ve been having some epic staring contests with Zeak, the neighborhood outdoor cat. We haven’t officially met yet, but I’m pretty sure I’m winning.
One of my proudest moments? When little Nik was born, I stayed up with Mom during all those late-night feedings. It was exhausting (even for me!), but hey — we’re family.
If I could give humans one piece of advice? Put those devices down, go outside, soak up the sunshine, chase a ball, share a snuggle, and eat the treat. Life’s too short to skip the good stuff.
If I could talk for a day? I’d probably ask: “Is it my turn for a walk? Why is Nik getting all the best snacks again? And, um, Dad… are you seeing that cat out there?!”
And if I were the Mayor of Hidden Lake? First order of business: Build a dog park so I can meet all the other pups in the neighborhood! Who’s with me?
Oh — and my humans say they love reading the monthly magazine and seeing all the families, kids, and dogs. Me too! So if you see me out on a walk (or working on my tan in the yard), come say hi. I’m always ready to make new friends!
Until then — tail wags and sunshine,
~Ollie
