Cars, Cause & Champagne: A Hidden Lake Tradition
Our neighborhood mailman, Antuan Moore, proudly showing his 1979 Chevrolet Malibu with his family.
The Hidden Lake Amphitheater came alive as neighbors and guests gathered for our 5th Annual Stroll Hidden Lake Car Show: Cars, Cause & Champagne. What started five years ago as a simple neighborhood car showcase has now grown into one of Hidden Lake’s most beloved traditions—an afternoon where horsepower meets hospitality, and community spirit shines as bright as polished chrome.
Community, Class & Celebration
Even with the super hot weather, our neighbors showed up in full force—lawn chairs, sun hats, fans, and plenty of good spirits in tow. From the moment guests arrived, it was clear this was more than just a car show. Title Sponsors, Timothy and Lori Beth Scott of Scott Realty Group, spoiled guests with sweet treats and smooth bourbon. Flutes of
champagne were poured by Kevin and Annie Jefferson of McGlinch & Sons, setting a celebratory tone. Shaun LeBeau of Dean Mechanical handed out premium cigars, including Oliva V Melanio, Fuente, and Greater Oak blends. Every sponsor brought their own personal touch, making the event feel both elegant and inviting.
Adding to the excitement, Szott M-59 Toyota—an event sponsor whose general manager, Mark Mechigan, is also a Hidden Lake neighbor—brought two striking new models: the 2025 4Runner TRD Off-Road Premium and 2025 Sequoia Platinum. Their presence gave everyone a sneak peek at what’s rolling into driveways in the coming year.
Though unable to attend in person, Poly Pros Coatings made their support felt through sponsorship, a reminder of the businesses who believe in the spirit of this neighborhood gathering.
Meanwhile, Young’s Entertainment kept the energy high with music, trivia, and playful announcements that had the amphitheater buzzing. Guests mingled at sponsor booths, enjoyed freshly shucked oysters and shrimp from Savor & Sip, and savored authentic Middle Eastern cuisine from All Events Catered—owned by Arev’s mom from Savor & Sip, keeping it all in the family! Guests also took home custom wood keychains handcrafted by Oak Embers—a memorable keepsake of the day—while Party Fly Photography captured every detail, from the polished chrome to the smiling faces, ensuring the afternoon will be remembered long after the engines cooled.
Shining Stars on Display
Dozens of vehicles filled the amphitheater grounds—everything from roaring muscle cars to elegant vintage cruisers to sleek exotics. Neighbors voted for their favorites, while seasoned judge Roger Ratkowski, trustee of the Green Oak Historical Society and a professional car show judge for over 30 years, selected his top choice.

Roger, who also brought his own 1932 Plymouth to the show, summed it up perfectly: “I’ve judged hundreds of cars over the years, but what makes this event special is the people. It’s neighbors coming together, celebrating craftsmanship, and creating memories.”
Giving Back with Heart
This year, we added something new—tying the 50/50 raffle to a nonprofit cause. It was so well-received and deeply appreciated that it’s already become a permanent part of the tradition. Our Best in Show winners, the Gutowskis, proudly directed the $290 pot to LACASA, an organization dedicated to supporting victims and survivors of domestic violence and child abuse.
As Debi Gutowski shared, “We love that this show isn’t just about cars—it’s about community. Being able to give back through LACASA makes this win even more meaningful.”
Sponsors Who Shine
I’m so grateful for our sponsors, whose generosity and heart made this day possible.
- “This event is one of our favorites each year. We’ve been proud to support it for three years running because it’s more than an event—it’s a tradition.” — Timothy Scott, Scott Realty Group
- "Pouring champagne and watching neighbors reconnect is the best part.” — Kevin Jefferson, McGlinch & Sons
- “Seeing people light up when handed a cigar—those little touches matter.” — Shaun LeBeau, Dean Mechanical
- “As a newer resident, it’s been such a joy to jump right into traditions like this car show. Supporting the event and meeting so many neighbors made us feel even more connected—it’s a reminder of why we love calling Hidden Lake home.” — Mark Mechigan, Szott M-59 Toyota
Neighbors echoed the same joy, with many sharing that this was the best car show yet. As Sue Leone, Head of the Hidden Lake Social Committee, put it: “From the oysters and champagne to the stunning cars and great neighbors—it doesn’t get better than this.”
A Hidden Lake Tradition
With sunshine, laughter, great food, spectacular cars, and a charitable twist, the 5th Annual Car Show once again proved why it’s one of the neighborhood’s favorite gatherings of the year. Special thanks to Party Fly Photography for capturing the event so beautifully, giving us lasting memories to look back on. Thanks to our incredible sponsors, our dedicated neighbors, and the enthusiasm of every guest, this tradition continues to grow stronger each year.
Here’s to another year of cars, cause, and champagne—a celebration of horsepower, heart, and Hidden Lake pride. I can’t wait to see you all again for round six!
