Bunco Babes Bring the Cheer at Their Christmas Gathering

The Bunco Babes Club wrapped up the year with their most anticipated — and most popular — gathering of the season: the annual Christmas Bunco night, graciously hosted by Renee El-Awad. Known for setting the bar high, this festive evening once again delivered on fun, creativity, and plenty of holiday cheer.

The theme was Christmas pajamas, though the group embraced it in true Bunco Babes fashion. Some guests arrived in cozy holiday PJs, while others opted for dressy or casual looks, creating a relaxed, come-as-you-are vibe that made everyone feel right at home.

Renee went above and beyond as host, transforming her space with thoughtful details that made the night extra memorable. The standout feature was her show-stopping Christmas Ornament Shot Tree — a white, lighted tree adorned with hanging red ornament shot glasses that doubled as festive décor and party fun. It quickly became a crowd favorite and a perfect reflection of the playful spirit of the group.

The evening also featured a delicious potluck spread, with guests contributing an array of festive treats and desserts. From sweet bites to seasonal favorites, the table was overflowing and added to the cozy, celebratory atmosphere that kept everyone lingering between rounds.

As always, the dice brought plenty of laughs and friendly competition. When the games wrapped up, Paula LaPointe earned the title for Most Losses, proving that in Bunco, it’s all about showing up and having fun. The honors for Most Wins went to Barbara Molloy, while Mary Pittman also claimed the win for Most Baby Buncos, rounding out the night’s winners.

More than just a game night, the Bunco Babes Christmas gathering was a celebration of friendship, tradition, and the joy of coming together during the holidays. With Renee’s warm hospitality, festive flair, and a room full of familiar faces, it was the perfect way to close out the year — and a reminder of why this gathering remains everyone’s favorite.

The Bunco Babes of Hidden Lake gather every second Thursday at 7 p.m., and there’s always room at the table for one more. Want in? Contact neighbor Patrice Figurski at fig.p@icloud.com to join the email list and roll with the crew.
