As the publisher of Stroll Hidden Lake, I’m always paying attention to the people behind the businesses we introduce to our neighborhood—not just what they do, but why they do it, how they show up, and whether their values align with the community we’re intentionally building. That’s exactly why I’m excited to introduce you to Daniel Murawski, founder of Legacy Painting Co.

Legacy Painting Co. isn’t new to Hidden Lake—they’re already working with neighbors throughout the community. As the company continues to grow locally, Daniel’s dedication to connection has been unmistakable. In 2025, Legacy Painting Co. stepped up as our most involved STROLL event sponsor of the year, proudly supporting the Pawrade & Pageant, Bites, Brews, and Ballads, Family Fun Festival, and Tree Lighting Ceremony— strengthening the sense of community that defines Hidden Lake.

Daniel began painting at just 18 years old while attending college, working for a skilled master of the trade. What started as a side pursuit quickly revealed itself as something more. The process of working with his hands—creating something tangible, detailed, and lasting—felt deeply aligned, and ultimately led him to step away from college and fully commit to the craft. Nearly 15 years later, that decision remains one he stands by without hesitation. “If I could go back,” Daniel shared, “I wouldn’t change a thing.”

Over the years, Daniel refined his skills, built strong relationships with others who shared his values, and expanded his expertise into carpentry and cabinet refacing and refinishing. Along the way, he also witnessed a recurring frustration—homeowners repeatedly let down by sloppy work, poor communication, and contractors who didn’t respect their homes. That frustration became purpose.

Founded in 2021, Legacy Painting Co. (formerly I.C.E. All Paint) was built as a response to an industry Daniel knew could—and should—be better. The rebrand reflects a long-term vision rooted in craftsmanship, consistency, and pride in work that lasts.

Legacy Painting Co. specializes in premium interior and exterior painting, along with expert cabinet refacing and refinishing. Their work is defined by precision, clean lines, and thoughtful prep—because, as Daniel often reminds homeowners, “A beautiful finish starts long before the first coat of paint goes on.”

Many clients come to Legacy Painting Co. after a disappointing experience elsewhere. They’re overwhelmed, cautious, and unsure who to trust. Daniel and his team eliminate that stress with clear communication, reliable timelines, and a process rooted in professionalism from start to finish.

One moment that stays with him involved a cabinet refinishing client who was so thrilled with the results that she emailed her entire neighborhood association and began hosting gatherings just so neighbors could see her kitchen. “She was proud of her home again,” Daniel said, “and that pride spread through her whole community.”

Legacy Painting Co. has grown steadily from a one-man operation into a carefully built team of skilled professionals. Growth is intentional—every team member is carefully chosen, not for their skills, but for their character and heart. 

“This isn’t just a service—it’s our name, our reputation, and what we’ll be known for long after the job is done,” Daniel explained. Integrity, craftsmanship, and respect—for both the home and the people doing the work—are at the core of everything they do.

Outside of work, Daniel has lived throughout metro Detroit and currently calls Livonia home. His greatest motivation is his seven-year-old daughter, Isabella. “She’s the reason I push to build something the lasts beyond me,” he shared. He’s also quick to credit Oliver Nugget, his 75-pound Golden Retriever and unofficial emotional support teammate, for keeping things grounded when days get stressful.

In an industry often driven by speed and shortcuts, Legacy Painting Co. is refreshingly focused on doing things right. ”Trust your gut,” Daniel advises. “If something feels rushed, unclear, or too good to be true—it probably is. Great work might take a little longer, but the results are worth it.”
