Each December, Hidden Lake gathers under twinkling lights for one of the most cherished traditions in our community. This year’s Annual Tree Lighting—beautifully organized by the Hidden Lake Social Committee—was nothing short of spectacular, filled with heartwarming moments, joyful surprises, and the kind of neighborly spirit that makes this place feel like home.
At the center of it all is Jan Mannarino, the longtime event chair whose dedication, creativity, and steady leadership have kept this celebration glowing year after year. Her love for this community shows in every thoughtful detail, and residents feel it the moment they arrive.
A Community Celebration Filled With Wonder
Families were greeted by an adorable winter petting zoo from Carousel Acres, featuring gentle donkeys, fluffy sheep, and the crowd favorite—a magical “unicorn” that delighted every child brave enough to hop on for a ride. The sound of giggles and tiny boots crunching in the snow created the perfect festive backdrop.
Nearby, the fire pits became cozy gathering spots where kids roasted marshmallows and crafted gooey s’mores using the Social Committee’s special s’mores kits. Laughter, warmth, and togetherness filled the air.
A Musical Welcome for Santa
The excitement built as DJ entertainment filled the space—thanks to STROLL Hidden Lake’s sponsorship. When “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town” played, children knew exactly what that meant… Santa was on his way! He arrived to the tune of “Here Comes Santa Claus,” waving as families cheered and cameras clicked.
Sweet Treats & Cherished Portraits
Residents enjoyed a delicious assortment of cookies generously provided by Legacy Painting Co., adding festive sweetness to the night. The magical portraits with Santa—captured by Party Fly Photography and sponsored by Legacy Painting Co.—gave families treasured keepsakes to remember the evening.
Holiday karaoke and caroling, brought to life by Young’s Entertainment, kept spirits bright and the crowd singing along all night long.
Lighting the Tree & A Beloved Tradition
As the community gathered close, the crowd counted down together—3…2…1!—and the Hidden Lake tree burst into brilliant light. Immediately following, Santa, his elf, Paula, Jan, and Pluto led a heartfelt rendition of “Silent Night.” This moment, a treasured annual tradition, created a wave of peace and beauty beneath the glowing tree.
A Special Night for STROLL — and for Sophia
This year also held a personal meaning: I was invited by the Social Committee to support the event, and it was a true honor. We at STROLL were proud to sponsor the DJ entertainment and help bring together the wonderful partners who made the evening so special.
And for our family, it became a memory we’ll cherish forever—it was Sophia’s very first time meeting Santa! Although, truth be told… she was far more smitten with Pluto. She was Pluto’s #1 fan from start to finish, and it absolutely melted my heart.
