Meet Drake!

What's your name?
My name is Drake. I am named after a large mayfly used for fly fishing, not the rap artist.(Because my dad is a fly fisherman.)

Tell us about your family?
My mom, Miranda, dad Jim, and three sisters, Hastings, Landry, and Olive, care for me.

How old are you?
I am five years old. I was born on March 15th, 2018, in New Hampshire.

What is your favorite hobby?
I live for stalking, chasing, and catching squirrels. I spend hours in the backyard by choice. Fall and spring are my favorite seasons for squirrel hunting. I have had some luck - a handful of confirmed kills. My mom and sisters go crazy when I catch one and want to save the squirrel.  My dad is the only one that is proud of me; he is my biggest fan!

Who are your best friends?
I love living in Heritage Hills. Every day is an adventure. I love everyone, especially the ones who will pet me; some people don’t want to pet me, which I do not understand. I am irresistible, and my fur is very soft.  My favorite dog friends are Pecos, Jet, Petunia, Atlas, Gwen, Vince, Penny, Hank, and Blaze, but I really like people the best!

What is your favorite part of the day?

I have a few; breakfast, dinner, and walks are a must!  They should be timely. I demand breakfast by 7:30 and start looking for dinner around 4:30. Then, a little squirrel hunting and two walks make for a great day. I make myself heard when these things don’t happen; there is no sleeping in. I bark early and wake the house up if I don’t get what I want. My family loves me and gives in to my demands!

What makes you happy?
Almost everything!  I love when visitors come to see me through the side gate, especially Melinda Irwin.  I also love food, head scratches, and slow squirrels.  The best is when I trick my family and get fed twice.

Have you been in trouble recently?
I try to get my family's attention if I am not taken on a walk or fed promptly.  I will go up to my sister's room and take her stuffed animals.  I recently stole an elf pet and got in big trouble!!! The stuffed animals would much prefer to hang out with me outside, so I don’t understand why there’s a problem with that.
