The Thakker Family!

Family members:
Tinu Thakker, Amisha Sheth-Thakker, Annika Thakker (age 19, UCF) and Arian Thakker (age 9, Heathrow Elementary). Tinu and Amisha have been married 27 years.

Where are you and your family originally from?
We are originally from New York but have lived in Florida for over 20 years. We consider ourselves Floridians! We have lived in Heathrow for over 20 years.

What is your profession(s), and where do you work?
Tinu is a finance director in the auto industry, and we own a small business.

What does your family do for holidays?
We recently celebrated Diwali on Oct. 24 with family and friends. We usually decorate our home with lights and set off fireworks for the New Year.

What are your family traditions?
We are blessed to have our family close by. We eat dinner together several times a week. We love to travel and enjoy spending time together. We love Memories of India. We live on a lake and enjoy watching the sunset from our lanai.

How are you involved in the community?
Amisha has been a member of the MOMs Club of Heathrow for 20 years. Moms offering moms support is extremely important, and the club is a great way for new moms and families to get acquainted with Heathrow.

What is your favorite part about living in the neighborhood?
We have made lifelong friends here. Block parties, neighbors helping neighbors and a real sense of community are some of the reasons we love living in Heathrow. Before and after Hurricane Ian, neighbors were helping each other to prepare and then clean up. We love that our street comes together both in celebrations and in times of need.

We love to see our local families highlighted each month in Stroll Heathrow. We love to see the community and local businesses represented in this magazine.

Heathrow is a wonderful place to live and raise a family.
