We have two cats! One is a Maine Coon, the lady of the house, and her name is Jade. She will be 10 years old on July 28 and still thinks she is a kitten. We are constantly amazed by the way she runs, jumps, and plays! We rescued her from a family that could not keep her when she was 7 months old. We renamed her after her beautiful green eyes. 

Our second cat is Pumba, whom we also rescued from a home that could no longer keep him when he was 7 years old. He will be 12 years old next month. He’s a beautiful big boy who thinks he’s a dog and acts just like one. The two of them get along beautifully, and together, they complete our home. 

They were adopted from their previous families, who could no longer keep them. Jade is the queen who does what she wants, when she wants, if she wants. Her favorite spot is to sit on top of the recliner, nuzzling anyone’s head who sits below her. On the other hand, Pumba thinks he’s a dog and will turn upside down so you can pet his belly. He loves to lie on top of you, no matter where you are. His meow really sounds like he’s talking to you, and I swear he can say, “Oh, man!” 

Jade has a favorite terry cloth ball that she picks up in her mouth and walks from room to room with. She likes to toss it, then runs to pick it up and do the same again. It’s extremely funny how she amuses herself. Both of them are incredibly spoiled, but then again, they’re our babies… and shouldn’t they be?
