Don earned his Business Administration degree in Real Estate/Finance at Colorado State University in 1975 and began his real estate career the year he finished college. He joined The Group, Inc. in 1980 as a broker associate/partner, specializing in the new and resale residential market, income property sales, and some commercial real estate sales. 

 

Don has served 10 years as a director of The Group, Inc. and has held the position of president for the Fort Collins Country Club and Paragon Point H.O.A., as well as having served on the Professional Standards Committee for the Fort Collins Board of Realtors. Additionally, Don and his wife Lynn own and manage their own investment properties. Don is a believer in real estate as a vehicle to wealth.

Don’s professional designations include Realtor Emeritus (National Association of Realtors), Member of the Colorado Association of Realtors, Member of the Fort Collins Board of Realtors, and Past Member of the Professional Standards Committee for Fort Collins Board of Realtors.

Don and Lynn Svitak met in 1974, married in 1975, and just celebrated 48 years of marital bliss. They have three adult sons, Michael, Jeff, and Brandon, three daughters-in-law, and four grandchildren. Michael and his wife Sophia have two children, Florendia (10) and Nico (8). They live in Redondo Beach, California. Michael works as a director of photography in movies, commercials, and music videos. Jeff and wife Ana live in San Diego, California, with their daughter Mila (4). Jeff works as an architect, general contractor, and real estate investor. Brandon and his wife Erin have two children, Brooks (4) and Nolan (2). Brandon and Erin live in Denver and both work as Realtors at Madison & Co. Properties. Brandon also works as an A/V operator for the TNT network covering the Colorado Avalanche games as well as Nuggets and Rockies games from time to time. 

 

Don’s ties to Harmony go way back. For over 30 years Don has worked with Harmony’s developer Byron Collins, assisting him with real estate sales in Paragon Point, Paragon Estates, Willow Springs, The Timbers Condominiums, and now in Harmony. After 23 years of living in Paragon Point, the Svitaks moved to Harmony in 2014. 

 

“We’ve always loved Timnath for its views, proximity to the Poudre River, and rural living,” says Lynn. When asked what they love most about the neighborhood, it was hard to name just one thing! From the saltwater pool, health club, and walking trails, to the gorgeous golf course and numerous sports courts, the Svitaks love everything about Harmony’s resort-style living! “It’s great for our grandkids,” Lynn says. “They love the pool’s waterslide and having plenty of space to play!” Most of all, Don and Lynn truly love the friendliness of the community and the stunning views that create the perfect social atmosphere.

 

In their free time, they enjoy golfing, pickleball, going on walks, yoga, gardening, and spending time with their grandkids.
