Meet the Wallace Family!

A lady from La Paz, Bolivia, meets a man from Destin during a weekend getaway in Andalusia, AL. The farm may have brought them together, but the beach is where they are putting down roots.

Val and Trent Wallace have now been together for 12 years and have two young daughters, Alex, 8, and Anna, 6. Alex was born in Santa Rosa Beach, and Anna was born in La Paz when the family lived there for two years. Four years ago, they moved back to the area and decided that Hammock Bay ticked all the right boxes for their new family home. “There are few communities that can match both the quantity and quality of amenities Hammock Bay offers,” Trent said.

Both Val and Trent are water lovers. Val favors the beach, and Trent loves being on the boat, whether it be driving around enjoying the sights or doing some fishing. If he’s on land, he might be spotted on the golf course. When she’s not baking in the sun, Val likes to bake with the girls, work out on her Peleton and has been known to be crafty. She also volunteers at the Point Washington Medical Clinic.  Recently, she was placed on the clinic's board, an accomplishment for which she is incredibly proud and underscores her hard work and selfless commitment to the clinic's mission "to build a stronger and healthier community by providing high-quality primary health care regardless of the patient’s means or access."

Their backyard is a fun place to play, but Val and Trent also like to take the girls and their dog, Wally, to the park behind City Hall. Lately, Trent said they have been playing Super Mario Brothers on the NES Nintendo the girls received for Christmas. Speaking of holidays, the entire Wallace family, including Trent’s mother, dresses up for Halloween. “We've done The Wizard of Oz, Peter Pan, Bluey, S'mores, and most recently, Beauty and the Beast,” Trent shared.

Some favorite restaurants of the Wallace family include Vintij, Sushimoto, and The Donut Hole. For vacation, they love Park City, Utah, and are hoping to visit the Smoky Mountains in the coming months. Trent is a die-hard Alabama fan and loves movies, with Braveheart, Shawshank Redemption, and Legends of the Fall taking spots in his top ten.

From a farm weekend to a beachy residence, the Wallace family is making memories in Hammock Bay.
