Daisy

The Neighborhood Monitor

Weighing in at 13 pounds, this little Shichon (ShihTzu-Bichon) keeps an eye on what’s happening outside from her perch on a window bench at Brenda Ziegler’s home.

Daisy is five years old and super energetic. “She loves her walks by the lake where the ducks are walking around.” Brenda said Daisy practically drags her into the lake trying to get to them. “She can't even get close; they are so fast — it's hysterical!” Even after all that, Daisy goes home and runs some fast laps in the yard. And if Brenda is going in the car, Daisy is right there enjoying the wind in her hair.

Speaking of her hair, if you’ve seen Daisy around the neighborhood, your first impression might be “Ewok” because of her beautiful brindle coat. (People frequently remind Brenda of this when they’re out for walks.) “While she's female, I never let groomers put bows in her hair. She's just not a bow girl.” But she does have a pink thunder vest that she loves to wear during thunderstorms (which she does NOT like).

Brenda said Daisy adores everyone, even more so if they pet her. “She also likes other dogs, especially if they can play and run around together. However, she's not as crazy about them if they get in Mom's lap,” Brenda shared. Daisy also loves to sit and stare at Brenda “incessantly.” Well, she IS Daisy’s favorite human!

Of course, Daisy also has favorite toys. “A squeaky fox is her favorite that she gets out every evening after dinner to play "go get it" and her rubber textured ball that she puts on the couch and massages her back with it ... hysterical,” Brenda laughed.

“She's a smart and fun family pet. We all love her a lot!”
