Meet Penelope and Elvis

Corgis are special dogs, and these two are definitely two-of-a-kind

Penelope

Hello, Halle Plantation. Meet my dogs, Penelope (Penny) and Elvis. Penelope is a 2-year-old red-and-white Welsh Corgi, and Elvis is a 10-month-old tricolor Welsh Corgi. Both were born on a farm in Middle Tennessee. We got Penny about two years ago during quarantine and then decided she needed a friend, so we found Elvis eight months ago. When they first met, Elvis was just a little puppy, sweet and cute, but as he grew up, he ended up being quite the troublemaker.  Elvis loves to chew on anything he can get his mouth on. Penelope, however, has always been loyal and protective with a sensitive heart. I thought Elvis would follow the same steps as Penelope, but it turned out that he took his own route. Although Penelope and Elvis have their differences, they both love each other and play together often. I always see them lying in the same spot together and snuggling.

Penelope and Elvis have quickly adapted to our family. Both love exploring and camping. When we’re not camping, we’re going on golf cart rides, going on a walk, or taking them to Shelby Farms and Johnson Park. Just because Penelope and Elvis love camping doesn’t mean they don’t miss being at home. As soon as we come home, they go to their favorite spot, which is in the office chair by the front window. Both of them like to bark at the window at birds, squirrels, the neighbors' cat, or other dogs walking by. As soon as I get home from school, they are both eager to come say hi to me. Both dogs love to watch me jump on the trampoline and enjoy kicking the soccer ball around the yard.

Penelope and Elvis are about to begin an exciting chapter in their lives. Both of them are getting prepared to travel to Texas, then Colorado, followed by an airplane flight to Alaska because our family is moving there. Elvis and Penny will love their new adventure because they can go meet new people and explore and see lots of new wildlife, like moose and bears. It will definitely be a new experience for all of us but especially for the Corgis.

My family and I are so grateful to have Penelope and Elvis join us. They have made our family complete and added so much joy and laughter to our home. Corgis are special dogs, and these two are definitely two-of-a-kind.
