Meet Brian Olaf Dorr

I think I was born to be a part of my family because I feel like I belong here, and I love living in Halle!

My name is Brian Olaf Dorr. I am an English bulldog and will be turning 1 on February 6th, 2022!  My parents (Mike and Aggie) and six sisters, Toni (20), Kennedy (18), Tia (17), Talia (12), Brooklynn (11), and Ava (4), got me from Indiana, where I was born on April 6th. I was 8 weeks old. It was so awesome. They loved me and spoiled me from the start. We spent the day hanging outside and I took a lot of naps on everyone’s lap. At night, I slept in a little playpen for the first week in my parent’s room but eventually, they moved me to my room, they said it was because I was snoring so loud. I spend my days mostly outside as long as the weather is nice. I love lying in the sun and running through the leaves. Sometimes I dig in the dirt, but that ends me up in the shower, which I do not enjoy. I smell weird after! I get along with everyone, even other neighborhood dogs. Making friends is nice, although sometimes they do not enjoy my enthusiasm when we first meet.  I can come on a little strong, but I guess that comes from being from a large and loving family.  It’s only my dad and me at the house that are boys!  He tells me that we needed another man in the house because he has a wife and six daughters.  We are pals – my dad and I – and we protect our home and our girls.  I overheard him say the other day that I should get a brother for some company, and my mom didn’t like the idea. Maybe he can change her mind.  I would love a buddy to play and hang with.

My family always says that I am goofy, funny, and can be a troublemaker sometimes, but I don’t mean to be.  I just like to make sure everyone is always entertained and laughs at me.  I guess I was born to be somewhat of a comedian. Making my family laugh is very important to me (second to eating ... eating is my favorite).  I do it for the laughs, I guess.  I may look very serious, but I am just a silly bully at heart.

I love going for walks around my neighborhood.  My dad, Mike, usually takes me and we meet so many friendly people!  They always come up to me and pet me. They tell my dad how pretty I look, and I try to let them know I appreciate that by jumping on them over and over.  Sometimes my dad tells me no! but I think they really enjoy that.  Walks get me very tired, so when we get home, I drink all my water and pass out for about an hour.

I love walks, eating, jumping on everyone, staring at my family when they eat, and drooling.  I love snow when we get it and puddles. I dislike vacuums, landscapers that come into my backyard once a week and baths.

I am most grateful that I was chosen to become a part of this family.  I like that there are so many of us. All my sisters always come home from school and hug and kiss me.  They tell me I am so cute and they love me so much.  My littlest sister is not a huge fan yet because we are kind of the same size, and she doesn’t like it when I sniff her.  But I think she is warming up to me.  My favorite part of the day is when it is nighttime, and we watch T.V. I can nap by the fireplace and enjoy the sounds. I think I was born to be a part of my family because I feel like I belong here.  And I love living in Halle!  So many streets to walk on and so many yards to sniff!  It is so awesome!  Make sure to say hi when you see me out!

Love,
Brian Dorr
