When & where did you adopt your pet?
Tank is a foster fail from Virginia Beach.  I fostered kittens from the Humane Society animal adoption before moving to Kentucky.
What made you decide to make your home your pet's forever home?
Back in 2019, I took in a mother cat and her litter from the animal adoption. She had her babies and needed a quiet, safe place to nurse her litter, so we brought them all home.  We planned to foster them until they became adoptable age.  During that time, we became very attached to him.  Sadly, He got very ill and was not expected to make it. I actually adopted him as a hospice kitten when he was a few months old.  With lots of love, the right medical care,  prayer,s and T, LC he survived and is now our handsome big boy!
How did your pet get his/her name?
This is an easy one.  He is huge!   He was the largest of his litter and the hungriest of them all from day 1!  Upon arrival at our home. We knew immediately he was “Tank”.
Does your pet have any favorite toys, places to sleep, visit, etc.?
Tank loves to play with plastic springs, miniature fuzzy animals, and basically any kind of rope or string. He loves to sleep on his favorite chair in the sun room; however, it’s not uncommon to find him curled up inside a wicker basket or even an empty planter pot.  He spends a good amount of time in the sunroom watching the birds, squirrels, chipmunks, and the bunnies eat from the bird feeder.  This is quite entertaining for many hours a day.
Tell us something quirky or funny that your pet does:
Tank literally eats everything! He’s been known to chew on toilet paper rolls, glass bowls, lampshades, and my least favorite, the corners of some wood furniture pieces.  He also plays fetch like a dog.  If you throw his favorite spring, he’ll spend lots of time chasing it, swatting, and even bringing it back to you sometimes to throw over and over.
How has having your pet made your life better?
He is just so funny, silly, and cuddly.  We love the way he sits like a perfect gentleman with his front paws crossed.  I especially love what he does when he gets the zoomies. Because of his large size, he runs full speed ahead on the wood floors, trying to get traction. He reminds me of a cartoon character. He’s even been known to bounce off the walls!  Any bug in the house, he’s gonna find it and take care of it.  He is very social!  No matter who comes over immediately want to be involved. He brings toys to strangers like a dog and will play fetch.  Plumbers, electricians, and contractors. They all become friends with him and will stop to play with him during work.  He sits by them no matter how loud or how busy they are. He’s become very popular.
