Keeping Up with the Robinsons

From neighborhood workouts to roller coaster adventures, this Glen Oaks family knows how to stay on the move and bring people together along the way.

Tucked into the welcoming community of Glen Oaks, the Robinson family brings energy, connection, and a strong sense of togetherness to neighborhood life. Since moving to the area in October 2021, Clay and Jamie Robinson have embraced everything that makes this Prospect neighborhood special.
Clay, 39, is the owner of a State Farm agency in Lyndon. Originally from Ashland, Kentucky, he made his way to Louisville in 2012 after graduating from the University of Kentucky with a degree in Business. That same year marked the beginning of a new chapter not just professionally, but personally as well. Clay and Jamie, who met during their freshman year at University of Kentucky in 2005 and began dating in 2006, built their life together in Louisville after college.
Jamie, 38, grew up in Cincinnati and graduated from the University of Kentucky, earning a degree in Health Communication. Today, she channels her passion for wellness into her work as a fitness instructor with Pure Barre Louisville and Sweat Society. Recently, she has expanded her reach even closer to home by offering outdoor fitness classes right in the neighborhood. From barre and Pilates to yoga and bootcamp-style sessions, Jamie’s classes are designed to be accessible, fun, and community-driven. Her goal is simple but impactful: break down barriers to fitness and create a space where neighbors can connect while prioritizing their health.
Active Kids, Playful Pup, and Family Fun
The Robinson household is rounded out by their two daughters, McKenna and Tori, and their French Bulldog puppy, Moose. McKenna, 7, is a second grader at Goshen Elementary who thrives on activity and challenge. Whether she’s playing soccer, practicing gymnastics, horseback riding, or climbing trees, she’s always eager to try something new. Tori, 5, a “Kindergator” at Goshen, shares her sister’s love of sports and is also involved in soccer, gymnastics, and dance. Known for her curiosity, Tori can often be found happily digging in the dirt in search of bugs. Meanwhile, Moose, the family’s newest addition, keeps everyone entertained with his spunky personality and love for running, fetching, and cuddling.
Family time is a top priority for the Robinsons, and much of it revolves around shared adventures. They are amusement park enthusiasts, spending summer days at Kentucky Kingdom and traveling to destinations like Disney World, Dollywood, and Kings Island. Whether it’s riding thrilling roller coasters or building sandcastles at Clearwater Beach, where they vacation annually with Clay’s family, their trips are filled with laughter and lasting memories. One favorite moment was their first time at Disney when they went to watch the Frozen Sing-Along. Seeing the kids' eyes filled with true magic at the end of the show, when it started snowing inside, was unforgettable and made the adults feel the magic of Disney, too.
Building Community Through Connection
Closer to home, the Robinsons enjoy neighborhood walks, playground visits, and family game nights at home with Mario Kart. They are also regulars at Glen Oaks’ community events, from poolside summer days to the annual back-to-school party. Halloween, however, stands out as a family favorite. Their first Halloween in the neighborhood left a lasting impression, with festive decorations, a golf cart parade, food trucks, and a sense of community that made them feel instantly at home.
That sense of belonging is something Jamie is actively working to strengthen. Through her neighborhood fitness classes, she’s helping create new opportunities for connection among residents, particularly for busy parents looking to balance wellness with family life. Her efforts are already bringing neighbors together in meaningful ways, fostering friendships and encouraging a healthy, active lifestyle.
For the Robinson family, Glen Oaks isn’t just where they live; it’s where they’ve built a community, created memories, and found a place to truly call home.
