Aesthetic Expertise with a Heart for the Community

If you’ve taken a walk through Gates Mills in the early morning, you may have already crossed paths with Dr. Mona Ascha, perhaps jogging past the Hunt Club or pausing near the stables to greet the horses. But beyond her love of the outdoors and deep local roots, Dr. Ascha is bringing something entirely new to the neighborhood: a fresh, medically grounded approach to aesthetic care, right from her home-based practice, Splendida.
Mona grew up in Gates Mills after her family moved here in 2000. Her parents immigrated from Syria in the 1980s when her father came to Cleveland for medical training. They fell in love with the area, choosing to build their life and raise three children in this picturesque village. Now, after years of education and surgical training, Mona is back where it all started.
“I earned my medical degree from Case Western Reserve University and completed advanced surgical training, including in plastic and gender affirmation surgery,” she explains. “I launched Splendida to bring together medical expertise and an artistic eye to help people feel confident and empowered in a space that’s welcoming and inclusive.”
Mona’s mission is clear: enhance natural beauty through evidence-based, personalized care. With over 50 scientific publications under her belt and a strong foundation in clinical science, she offers only treatments that are backed by real research, and she’s not afraid to say no if something isn’t right for you.
“At Splendida, you’re not just getting a neurotoxin or filler,” she says. “We take time for a full-face consultation, looking at balance and harmony. It’s never about chasing trends or upselling — it’s about subtle confidence and results that feel true to you.”
The services offered at Splendida include neurotoxin, filler, microneedling, Skinvive, vitamin injections, and weight loss treatments — all administered with care, transparency, and a deep respect for each patient’s unique goals.
The practice itself is nestled in her Gates Mills home, creating a comfortable, personal experience that stands in contrast to the sterile, often intimidating feel of many doctor’s offices. “I wanted to create a space where patients feel cared for the moment they arrive,” she says. “Being right here in the heart of the community means a lot to me, and I hope it makes care more accessible to my neighbors.”
Running a medical practice has come with its challenges, though. Mona admits that the business side, marketing, operations, and compliance, were all new territory. “Medical school teaches you how to care for patients, but not how to run a business,” she laughs. “It’s been a big learning curve, but I’ve grown so much along the way.”
That growth shows. Clients like Elle R. say, “I trust Dr. Ascha implicitly… she followed up twice after my appointment to make sure I was happy and I was!” Another patient, Marla B., describes her visits as “nothing short of a great experience,” praising Mona’s professionalism, knowledge, and warm bedside manner.
And this is just the beginning. Later this year, Mona plans to expand Splendida’s offerings to include regenerative aesthetic treatments like exosome therapy. She’s also developing loyalty programs, treatment packages, and more educational content on Instagram to help demystify aesthetic care for those who are curious but hesitant.
“I’m also planning a summer launch party,” she shares with excitement. “It’ll be a chance to celebrate with the community that has always meant so much to me.”
Outside of work, Mona stays active with tennis and long-distance running. She just completed the Boston Marathon, which she ran for charity. And in quieter moments, you might find her coding, traveling, or soaking up time with her family and new nephew.
Her advice to others? “If you’re hesitating, just try. Growth happens outside your comfort zone. Even small steps forward can lead to big changes.”
