After our 3rd annual Love your Neighbor Food Drive victory, Gates Mills Elementary is ready to continue giving back to a great cause, but this time, with a little fundraising to go with it!

 

We need your help to “Shoe us the love” and make our 1st Shoe Drive Fundraiser a huge success. Now through June, GMES will be holding a shoe drive for gently used and new shoes.

 

Any and all shoes are welcome, except for shoes with holes, tears, mold, or roller skates, roller, blades, or ice skates. All you need to do is take a few minutes during your spring cleaning to set aside any shoes, sandals, sports cleats, or dress shoes that you or your kids have outgrown or just don’t wear anymore.

 

Black bins will be placed throughout the Village, including at the Gates Mills Elementary School entrances, the Community House, and Town Hall from now through June 15th. Your shoe donation not only supports our local elementary school, but donating shoes helps to keep them out of landfills, where 85% of consumer textiles end up going. In addition, the organization GMES is partnering with works with small businesses and individuals to repurpose donated shoes for people in need, so your shoe donation has double the impact.
