Mayfield Moments

- Mayfield High School Honors Capstone students have been busy researching next steps to implement their Freshman Foundations initiative. Honors Capstone is a senior elective course in The Option program focused on developing leadership, problem-solving, and project management skills. This year’s Capstone effort includes researching data on 8th-9th grade transition trends to inform future adjustments that will help the District better address the needs of incoming freshman.
- Congratulations to the four Mayfield High School student artists who earned awards at this year’s Scholastic Art and Writing Competition, the nation’s longest-running and most prestigious recognition program for creative students. Mayfield artists received a total of 13 awards at the Midwest Region competition held at the University of Iowa.
- Thanks to the more than 150 future Wildcats and their families, who attended the District’s Kindergarten Showcase. Registration for the class of 2038 is open now!
- Following the successful passage of the Mayfield School District levy last November, the District is proud to anounce a new partnerhip to provide high-quality telehealth care to students. Recognizing the increasing need for access to quality mental health, counseling, and intervention services, Mayfield City Schools has partnered with Hazel Health to provide free, confidential telehealth serrvices to all K-12 students with consent from their parents. According to mom, resident, and Lander Elementary School Guidance Counselor Rebecca Schmidt, “Having access to confidential and professional mental health support is a game changer for our students and families.”
- Congratulations are in order for the District, specifically Treasurer Scott Snyder and his staff, for earning the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officer’s Association for its Annual Comprehensive Financial Report for the fiscal year ending in June 2024. The certifcicate is the highest form of recognition for excellence in state and local government financial reporting.
