Rescued, Loved, and Right at Home

Dasher, Benny & Fozzy

For the Cleghorn family of Standford's Landing, home is never quiet, and they wouldn't have it any other way. Jason and Chrissie, along with their daughters Maggie and Georgia, share their home with four lovable dogs: Fozzy, Dasher, Prim, and Benny. Each has a unique personality, but together they have created a home filled with laughter, unconditional love, and plenty of wagging tails.

Fozzy, the family's 8-year-old Goldendoodle, has been with them since he was a puppy. His shaggy coat reminded the family of Fozzy Bear from The Muppets, making his name an easy choice. Today, he's known for his endless love of toys and his signature smile whenever someone calls him "Mr. Poody."

The rest of the pack all found their forever home through Puppy Haven Rescue in South Tulsa. Chrissie and her family had fostered dogs for several years before meeting Dasher, a timid poodle rescued from a heartbreaking breeder surrender. When he arrived, he was frightened, severely matted, and didn't know how to walk on a leash, climb stairs, or even accept treats. But his sweet nature quickly won over the family. Jason couldn't bear the thought of Dasher having to start over with another family, so they happily became what rescue groups affectionately call a "foster fail."

Soon after came Benny, a handsome Cocker Spaniel who also came from a neglect situation. While he still enjoys retreating to his kennel when life gets busy, watching his confidence grow has been one of the family's greatest joys. The newest member, Prim, is a beautiful gray and cream poodle whose gentle spirit has blossomed since joining the Cleghorns. Once shy and especially fearful of men, she now confidently greets everyone by gently placing a paw on them.

The Cleghorns are passionate advocates for pet adoption and hope their story encourages others to consider opening their homes to rescue animals. While rescued pets sometimes need extra patience, they say the love they give in return is beyond rewarding.

Life with four dogs certainly keeps things interesting. Between regular grooming appointments, carefully timed morning and evening treats, and the occasional "stare down" if someone forgets snack time, these pups know exactly how loved they are. For the Cleghorns, every wagging tail, joyful zoomie, and quiet cuddle serves as a daily reminder that some of life's greatest blessings come with four paws.
