If there's a game to attend, a trail to walk, or a family member to cheer on, chances are you'll find the McKnights right in the middle of it.

Whether they're traveling to watch their children compete, enjoying an evening stroll through the neighborhood, or gathering with friends and family, the McKnights make the most of every moment together.

The McKnights have called Forest Ridge home for the past six years, and according to Amy, choosing Forest Ridge was an easy decision.

"Our older two kids ran cross country and track for Broken Arrow, so when we were looking for a new home, having a safe place for them to train was really important," she shares. "We also had several friends already living in Forest Ridge and knew this was where we wanted to put down roots. The Ridge Club amenities, especially the pool and gym, were a big plus too."

Today, Amy and Rob, along with their children Averie, 21, Jackson, 19, and Quinn, 12, have fully embraced life in Forest Ridge. Whether it's walking the trails, spending time at the Ridge Club, gathering with neighbors, or simply enjoying the strong sense of community, the neighborhood has become home for the entire family. 

Averie is a senior at Oklahoma State University studying psychology, while Jackson attends Kansas Wesleyan University, where he plays collegiate soccer and is pursuing a degree in Sports Management. Their youngest sibling, Quinn, shares the family's love of sports and stays active year-round with soccer and basketball. 

Needless to say, the family is rarely sitting still. Between college visits, athletic competitions, and family activities, their schedule stays full.

"We're definitely a sports family," Amy laughs.

On any given day, you'll likely find a game playing on the television, whether it's the Oklahoma City Thunder, Oklahoma State football or basketball, Manchester City soccer, or the Dallas Cowboys. And when they're not watching sports, they're usually attending them.

Much of the family's time is spent traveling to support their children. They frequently make trips to Stillwater for Averie's Alpha Delta Pi sorority events and to Kansas to watch Jackson compete on the soccer field. Closer to home, they spend plenty of time cheering on Quinn as he participates in soccer and basketball.

Despite their busy schedules, family remains at the center of everything they do.

Amy previously worked as a paralegal before becoming a stay-at-home mom, while Rob serves with the Tulsa Fire Department. In addition to his work as a firefighter, Rob has spent the past 18 years with Tulsa Area Screen Company. Together, Amy and Rob also own McKnight Lawn and Landscaping, keeping busy both professionally and personally. 

When it comes to relaxing, the family keeps things simple. They enjoy watching sports together, taking walks through the neighborhood, or making trips back to Texas to visit family.

Their favorite local spots reflect their laid-back, family-first lifestyle. You'll often find them exploring the walking trails, enjoying the ponds, or spending summer afternoons at the Ridge Club pool.

And when hunger strikes?

"We've apparently earned the nickname 'the buffalo family,'" Amy says with a smile.

The title comes courtesy of Rocking R, one of the family's favorite restaurants. According to Amy, just about everything they order ends up covered in buffalo sauce, and the staff often knows their order before they even place it. Waldo's is another go-to destination whenever the family can't decide what they're in the mood to eat.

Travel is another shared passion. Their most recent adventure took them to Chicago, but beach vacations remain a family favorite. Looking ahead, they've decided to rotate vacation styles, alternating between beaches, cities, and national parks to experience something different each year.

Of course, some of the family's most meaningful traditions happen right at home. Whether celebrating birthdays, holidays, or milestones, the McKnights prefer gathering with family and friends for a simple cookout and quality time together.

The family also includes a four-legged member named Finn, a lovable mix of Border Collie, Australian Shepherd, and German Shepherd. After losing their beloved dog Lola two years ago, the family adopted Finn, who has quickly become an important part of the household.

When asked what they love most about Forest Ridge, Amy doesn't hesitate.

"The community of people here," she says.

It's a sentiment that perfectly captures the McKnight family. Rooted in community, devoted to one another, and always showing up to support the people they love, they embody the spirit that makes Forest Ridge such a special place to call home.
