Bike A Better Path

Pedaling Towards a Brighter Future for Kids in Need

In our tight-knit neighborhood, a group of remarkable individuals has quietly worked
wonders. "Bike A Better Path" is a 100% volunteer local non-profit that has spent the last
4.5 years spreading joy and belonging among underprivileged kids. It all began with a
modest bike drive at George Park, and thanks to the commitment of friends and
neighbors like Forrest Healey, it has grown into a force for good that has touched
countless lives.
Forrest Healey, a 20-year resident of our neighborhood, along with his wife Trish and
their three daughters Grace, Sophie, and Camille, have dedicated himself to Bike A Better
Path for five years. Their mission? To provide brand-new bikes, locks, and helmets to
kids in need each holiday season, and to host a free Summer Fair at the Friendship
YMCA, allowing children to enjoy the simple pleasures of summer.
The idea for Bike A Better Path was born out of inspiration from other locals who were
giving selflessly. Witnessing their community come together to support one another
ignited the belief that they too could contribute to this spirit of generosity and kindness.
This organization has not only provided tangible benefits but has also left a lasting
impact on countless families. They've received feedback from those they've assisted,
noting the positive changes in the lives of the children they've helped. Bike A Better Path
has empowered kids to build confidence, create cherished memories, and develop a
sense of belonging.
What's particularly exciting is the upcoming bike drive on December 15th, taking place
at the American Legion Post 272 on Mountain Rd. This event is a golden opportunity for
our community to come together and make a meaningful difference in the lives of
children just in time for the holidays.
As we approach the holiday season, let us not forget those who may not share the same
privileges. Bike A Better Path serves as a heartwarming example of how a small group
of dedicated individuals, inspired by the spirit of giving, can make a profound impact on
the lives of children in need. It reminds us that, in our neighborhood, the bonds of
community are strong, and together, we can pedal toward a brighter and better future
for all.
Join hands with Forrest Healey, his family, and all the volunteers of Bike A Better Path to ensure that every child in our community has the opportunity to ride toward a brighter future. Your generosity is the key to unlocking their potential and creating lasting memories for years to come. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for being a part of this incredible journey.
