Charlie

Charlie Brewer isn’t just man’s best friend—she’s Firethorne golf course superintendent Adam Brewer’s faithful golf cart companion, water-loving adventurer and joyful sidekick.
A seven-year-old chocolate Lab with a personality as sweet as her coat is rich, Charlie has been part of the Brewer family since 2018, when Adam adopted her from friends with a very specific job in mind.
“I got Charlie to chase geese off the golf course I was working at in Greensboro called The Cardinal,” Adam shares. “I got her on a Saturday and the next day she was riding shotgun in the cart with me around the course.”
Since then, Charlie has made herself right at home—not just on the course, but in Adam’s life. She was named by a friend and has a soft spot for all things water. “Lakes, pools, ocean, puddles—it doesn’t matter. If it’s wet, she’s in,” Adam laughs.
One of Charlie’s signature moves is a spin of excitement—literally. “When she gets excited, she spins in circles. She’s done it since she was a pup,” Adam says. It’s a goofy little routine that never gets old.
But beyond her antics and water obsessions, Charlie brings something even more meaningful. “Charlie is my best friend. She rides with me in the cart, everywhere I go, if possible. She is the sweetest dog and loves everyone.”
Popular and well-known at Firethorne, Charlie is more than a pet. Whether she’s on goose patrol or just enjoying the breeze from the passenger seat of a golf cart, Charlie brings extra life to the club and the golf course.
