The Baker Family

Meet the Bakers, a dynamic family of six—and residents of Firethorne Country Club—who know how to balance fun, travel and togetherness!
Marie and Ethan Baker are the proud parents of four—Madison (22), Ethan (19) and five-year-old twins Dilynn and Brooks—and they know how to make the most of family life. Whether they’re lounging in the pool, cooking dinner together or planning their next big trip, the Bakers bring energy and warmth to everything they do.
Marie grew up in New York and lived in South Florida and Massachusetts before settling in the Charlotte area. Ethan is originally from Virginia Beach and has been in Charlotte since 1998. The two met on Tinder in 2014 and have been building a full and vibrant life together ever since.
The Bakers are an active crew. Marie enjoys working out and quality time with the kids, while Ethan loves tennis and golf. Their son Ethan, a computer science major at Florida State University, is studying abroad in Valencia, Spain this summer. When he’s home, he works as a server at Piper Glen and stays active at the gym. Madison, who recently graduated from the College of Charleston, now works at Wells Fargo in Shared Services Operations. The twins, starting kindergarten at Saint Matthews this fall, keep busy with swimming, tennis and karate.
The family shares a love of good food—especially tacos on family dinner nights—and are always up for Italian or a great steakhouse when dining out. They’re also die-hard Carolina Panthers fans and hold season tickets.
Travel is a big part of their lives, with a standout trip last year to celebrate Madison’s college graduation and Ethan’s high school graduation milestone. “We started in London and explored Italy—Sorrento, Positano, Capri, Rome, Florence, Tuscany and Venice. It was unforgettable,” Marie shares. This summer, they headed to Spain to settle Ethan into his study abroad program before exploring Madrid, San Sebastián and Barcelona.
For downtime, the Bakers keep it simple: pool floats, sunshine and time together. “That’s when we feel most relaxed and connected,” says Marie. From big adventures to everyday joys, this family knows how to make memories.
