To celebrate 50 years in business, Arceneaux Ford has found it as important as ever to reflect on its rich history.  It was 1973 when Raymond Arceneaux purchased Bevineau Ford in St. Martinville and changed the name to Arceneaux Ford; when Raymond passed away in 1981, his son-in-law Tommy took over the dealership.  A few years later, in 1985, Tommy decided to buy Leblanc Ford in Broussard with a business partner; soon after the decision was made to merge the two dealerships into one new location in New Iberia.  38 years later, New Iberia remains the home in which Arceneaux Ford thrives, today serving Acadiana from their location on Hwy 90 which they moved into in 2015.

   

In 1993, Tommy became the sole dealer and has since handed the reigns to a third generation of the family as his daughter Kristie Hebert serves in the role of Dealer Operator today.  Under Kristie’s steady leadership, Arceneaux Ford has continued to thrive through uniquely challenging times where it seems the only constant is change.  And her success has not gone unnoticed: just this year Kristie was appointed as the first female Chair for the Louisiana Auto Dealers Association (LADA).  

 

Kristie’s strong leadership at Arceneaux Ford and in the automobile business has truly been an inspiration to women in the industry thanks to her dedication to excellence, and her commitment to treating the dealership like family.  And thanks to employees like Mae Franks, who’s personally seen two generations of the family grow into and thrive in leading the dealership in her 43 years of service, it’s easy to remember the family legacy that has made Arceneaux Ford a success story for five decades…with many more to come.
