Cloteaux Roofing & Construction

Daniel Cloteaux is a Lafayette native & Owner of Cloteaux Roofing & Construction. As a third-generation roofer, he’s been roofing since he was 10 years old, learning the trade alongside family. Roofing is in his blood, that hands-on experience is the foundation on which Cloteaux Roofing is built.

Northcutt Roof Before

In 2017, Daniel began serving as a Lafayette firefighter and operating Cloteaux Roofing & Construction on the side.  From the start, the mission was clear: raise the standard and reputation for roofing companies through quality workmanship, transparency, and real customer service. It wasn’t long before Cloteaux Roofing’s reputation for following through on that mission grew the business beyond a firefighter’s side gig.

Daniel may no longer be on the roof for every job like he was at the start, but he’s no less involved than ever. And since 2023, his efforts have been joined by his bride Heather, who today serves as Director of Operations. Her accounting background, attention to detail, and creative energy were just what Cloteaux Roofing needed to grow.

And the accolades that have followed suggest that Cloteaux Roofing & Construction hasn’t lost sight of the mission as it’s grown; they include an. A+ Rating with the Better Business Bureau (BBB), the 2025 BBB Torch Award for Customer Commitment & Finalist for Ethics, Best of Acadiana 2024 & 2025, and 300+ five-star reviews online from satisfied customers.

What does your company do?
We are a licensed and insured residential and commercial roofing and construction company based in Lafayette, Louisiana, proudly serving the Acadiana area.
Our services include: residential and commercial roofing installations, replacements, and repairs; reconstruction carpentry, flooring, painting, sheetrock and more; free roof inspections; and financing.  And our expertise includes all roofing materials and coatings, fortified roofing systems, and storm restoration.

What makes Cloteaux Roofing & Construction different from other roofing companies?
First, Daniel is a roofer first, not just a business owner. He’s been on rooftops since he was 10 years old and that hands-on knowledge shapes how we approach every project. We know what a quality roof looks like because we have built thousands of them.

Second, we not only know how to do things the right way, we’re committed to it above all else.  This is our home and these are our people. Our name and reputation are literally attached to every job, every customer. And nothing is more valuable to us than our integrity- everything else flows from that.

Third, we recognize that the process matters as much as the final result.  Communication and care are what make the process as pain-free as possible.  We make sure all permits are in order ahead of time and keep our job sites clean and organized.  While our crews are working on your home, we treat your property with the same care we would want for our own. Our Catch-All protection system uses a breathable mesh netting system to protect landscaping, HVAC units, and property from falling debris.

Finally, we use only the most high-quality materials and processes so that we’re confident to back every full replacement with a five-year workmanship warranty.

What advice do you want to leave with homeowners in this area?
If your roof is more than five years old, you should be having it inspected at least once a year. It costs nothing and gives you either peace of mind or important information that you can’t get any other way.  Especially before storm season- get a free roof inspection.

There’s simply far too much that could be going on with your roof that’s just not visible from the ground.  By the time the evidence is obvious from the ground or inside the home, it’s too late, and the damage is often much more extensive.  So, one of our experts will come out at no charge, get up on your roof, and do a thorough, hands-on evaluation of the roof surface, vents, flashing, gutters, and everything surrounding the property.  All discussed, documented, and recorded in our system.

Also, educate yourself on your insurance policy before a storm hits. Know what deductibles you have, what triggers them, and what your coverage actually includes. Your insurance agent can walk you through it. Don’t wait until you’re in the middle of a claim to find out what your policy says.

Why is getting an inspection before storm season so important?
Documentation is everything. If a storm hits and you need to make a claim, one of the first things an insurance company will want to establish is the pre-storm condition of your roof. If you have an inspection report and photos from before the storm, you have a clear record. Without it, there is room for dispute about what existed before and what was caused by the storm.

We strongly encourage every homeowner to schedule a free inspection before June 1st, the start of hurricane season. Even if nothing is found, you walk away with peace of mind and documented proof that your roof was in good condition heading into the season. That documentation can be invaluable if you ever need to use it.
