Restoring Rugs with Care

Ford Lange continues an 80-year tradition of rug cleaning and repair while helping families protect the value of their investments.

For Ford Lange, owning George Bell Rug Cleaning means carrying forward a business with a long history of serving Mississippi families. Since opening in 1946, the company has hand cleaned and restored more than a half million fine rugs using a process developed over decades.
In October 2025, Ford became only the third owner in the company's 80-year history. "As a Jackson native, I am excited to continue helping the people of MS," he said.
George Bell Rug Cleaning specializes in rug cleaning and repair. The company's 10 step cleaning process is designed to remove impurities from rugs while providing care that goes beyond traditional steam cleaning or in home methods. The business also restores damaged rugs, helping preserve both their appearance and value.
Ford said professional cleaning plays an important role in maintaining a rug over time. "Vacuuming and traditional steam cleanings only push debris and dirt further into the foundation of the rug," he said. "Our processes ensure that we remove all dust, dirt, hair and any other unwanted mess from a rug."
While many people associate the company with oriental rugs, Ford said their services extend much further. "While oriental 'fine' rugs are our bread and butter, we have the ability to clean and repair all types of rugs," he said. "Whether it's a Persian wool rug, a synthetic store-bought rug, or an outdoor rug, we can handle it all."
Ford also recommends regular maintenance to extend the life of every rug. "In order to maximize the life of your rugs, it is recommended that all rugs undergo an annual cleaning to be proactive," he said.
“Eastover has been home to longtime customers, and we look to continue that trend.”
