Amanda Brown, our Stroll Editor

I want you all to get to know the lady behind all four of my Mississippi Stroll publications, AMANDA BROWN. I could not do what I do without her daily help, her strong work ethic, her creativity, her attention to detail, her punctuality and her friendship. She has been such an asset as we have gone from producing one publication to four monthly publications in a matter of a few short years! She also helps with our Instagram and Facebook, a jack of all trades! She keeps me in line and on track and I am blessed to work along side her!
Get to know Amanda......
Hey y'all!
I grew up in Jackson and attended First Presbyterian Day School, graduated from Jackson Prep (Class of '93), and later graduated from Ole Miss with a degree in Court Reporting. My husband, David, and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary in January and we have three children - Maddie (22), John David (20), and Lainey (16). Maddie recently moved to Nashville and started her first post-college job at Mending Hearts where she is working alongside their founder in various capacities. John David is a sophomore Accounting major at Ole Miss, and Lainey is a freshman at Oxford High School. Our beloved mini-Goldendoodle, Millie, is everyone's favorite family member and joyfully fills our semi-empty nest!
I have always loved to write and for many years, I ran a lifestyle blog and contributed to various publications and blogs. I also love relationships and making connections, thus making my job at Stroll a perfect fit blending the two - writing and relationships/connections! My role at Stroll has allowed me to meet and get to know countless people I never would have otherwise as well as reconnect with old childhood friends and acquaintances in our Jackson/Madison area magazines. I count it an honor to share your lives and your stories through the written word each month! Every submission, whether it's a pet, a family, a neighborhood gathering, or a resident kid - are all important because they define who we are as individuals, as families, and as a community! It's not unusual for me to comment to my husband, "this is my favorite issue," as I pour over your details and get to know you through extra communication and crafting your stories in the pages of the magazine.
My hobbies include cooking, reading, decorating, any crime show:), and traveling with David to new places! David was extremely well-traveled before we met, so he is our resident travel and adventure guide. My favorite trip to date was Yosemite National Park with its unforgettable scenery. Our favorite family tradition is Pine Cove Family Camp in Tyler, Texas, where we have gone for 18 summers. It has changed the course of our family, and we are forever grateful for the ministry of Pine Cove! We are members of Christ Presbyterian Church here in Oxford. After living in several other amazing places, we love calling Mississippi home.
Please reach out to me anytime with ideas for the magazine or just to say hello! Amanda.Brown@StrollMag.com.
