Eastover neighbor Major Quin, a May 2025 graduate of Jackson Prep, recently attended the United States Military Appreciation Day at Brandon High School alongside his parents, Billy and Christy Quin. During the event, U.S. Representative Michael Guest proudly announced his appointees to the United States Air Force Academy — with Major among the distinguished group. Pictured are Michael and Haley Guest, Major Quin, and his parents, Christy and Billy.

Major Quin is a 2025 graduate of Jackson Prep and the son of Christy and Billy Quin, Eastover residents. Major recently completed a remarkable high school career and will soon attend one of this country’s greatest higher education institutions, the U.S. Air Force Academy. He reports for basic training on June 25, 2025, and upon its conclusion, Major will turn his attention to football. He will join the Air Force Falcons football team as a “Z” back, a hybrid position that combines slot receiver and running back roles. He will also return punts and kickoffs.

Major had a highly decorated football career at Prep, where he was twice named to the MAIS 6A All-State team as the All-Purpose player and twice selected as an All-Conference wide receiver. He was chosen for the MAIS and Magnolia Sports Association All-Star teams, in which he was selected as the defensive most valuable player. He was voted the Jackson Prep Buddy Crosby Most Valuable Player following his junior season and was awarded the Impact Player Award after his senior season. Following his senior season, Major was named to the U.S. Army and Blue-Grey All-American teams.

Major’s athletic accomplishments are not limited to the gridiron. In his senior season, Major was selected to the MAIS 6A All-State team as an outfielder, earned the Patriot Award in soccer, and won a bronze medal for the 100-yard backstroke at the MAIS state swim meet. Beyond the fields of play, Major was a member of the Student Honor Roll and the French Honor Society, an announcer and producer for JPTV, and a Pathfinder. He won Prep’s AP French 4 Award, which is presented to the school’s top French student; his classmates voted him as Prep’s “Most Athletic” student; and he was inducted into the Jackson Prep Hall of Fame.

As you might imagine, Christy and Billy could not be prouder. They shared, “Major is a ‘grinder’ in the best sense of the word. If he puts his mind to something, he will accomplish it, regardless of how difficult it may be. We are most proud, however, of his kind, loving, and respectful heart. He cares for and respects the cafeteria workers, headmaster, football coaches, and his friends all in equal measure. We can’t wait to see what is in store for him.”

We are so proud of you, Major — your hard work, dedication, and commitment to service are truly inspiring!
