Paint, Paws, and Powder:
Adeline’s Favorite Things
At just 10 years old, Adeline has a way of brightening the world around her. Whether she’s sketching a sunset, gliding down a ski slope, or cuddling with her puppy, her gentle spirit and joyful curiosity remind everyone that life’s most beautiful moments are often the simplest ones.
A Passion for Art
For Adeline, art is more than a hobby — it’s a way to see the beauty in everything. “No matter what you do, it’s always unique,” she says. Her favorite subjects are rainbows, sunsets, and comics, and she loves using colored pencils to bring her imagination to life. Each night, as her mom reads aloud, Adeline colors quietly beside her — a comforting rhythm that fills their evenings with peace and creativity.

Her art teacher, Mr. Wood, plays a big role in nurturing that creativity through the after-school Art Club at Highlands. She also finds guidance from her grandma, Mimi, who patiently helps with sewing projects. Adeline treasures time spent with her friends Claire Horan and Kennedy Hagar, who often join her to make art together. One of her favorite memories was painting a sunset on canvas for her little sister Chloe’s 7th birthday — a gift made from love, and one Chloe still cherishes.
Adventures on the Slopes
When Adeline talks about skiing, her eyes light up. She started at age five, encouraged by her dad, whose love for the sport quickly became her own. “I was scared at first, but not for long,” she recalls with a smile. Her favorite place to ski is Breckenridge, where she and her siblings weave through tree runs and laugh their way down the slopes.

“I love going fast,” she says, “but the best part is skiing with my family.” For Adeline, skiing isn’t just about adventure — it’s about togetherness. “The connection with my siblings and how much fun we have when we ski together has made us closer in other parts of our lives.”
Life with Winnie Mae
At home, Adeline shares her days with her puppy, Winnie Mae, an Australian Labradoodle whose sweet mischief brings joy to everyone. “She’s the cutest little baby ever,” Adeline says fondly. Winnie greets each morning with a big stretch before flopping to the floor for belly rubs. She loves fetch, car rides, and curling up for naps when the play is done. “She’s just so lovable — I can’t stay mad at her,” Adeline laughs.

Dreams and Simple Joys
This year has been a special one for Adeline, who’s taking the stage in Kidz Kabaret’s production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. She’s worked hard learning her lines and songs, and her excitement for opening night is contagious.

If she could plan her perfect day, she says, it would be skiing with her family and friends — ending with a warm meal, laughter, and her favorite comfort foods: mac and cheese, popcorn, and Sweet Tarts.
When asked who she admires most, she doesn’t hesitate: “My sister Ellie — she’s so cool and nice, and I hope to be like her when I’m older.”
And what does Adeline want her East Highlands neighbors to know about her? “That I’m kind-hearted and love to have fun.”
With her creativity, warmth, and unshakable kindness, Adeline is a reminder of the beauty found in simple joys — and of how one young heart can brighten an entire neighborhood.
