Meet your East Highlands neighbors, the Patel family! Kevin and Payal Patel have been living in the neighborhood since the summer of 2021. Kevin is originally from Mississippi, where he attended the University of Mississippi (hotty toddy!). Payal was born and raised in the Chicago suburbs and went to Loyola University of Chicago. They met while finishing medical school and moved to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, to complete their medical residencies. They finally headed to Illinois when Payal was able to convince Kevin that snow wasn’t all bad. Their beach-born golden retriever, Kai, couldn’t be more thrilled with the colder temperatures! They have a 2-year-old daughter named Nora and a 3-month-old son named Miles.

Kevin works as a physician at an immediate care facility in Naperville. Payal is a primary care physician working in Elgin, IL. When they’re not working, they can be found watching any and all sports, but especially Ole Miss football and the Miami Dolphins. They love long walks around the neighborhood and trail with their dog, bike rides, and jogs. Living in an area that offers so many different ways to be active has been incredible for them. Being a quick walking distance from the DuPage River Trail, multiple children’s parks, and the downtown Naperville area is one of their favorite things about living in East Highlands. Nora enjoys spending time at the DuPage Children’s Museum, all of the local libraries, the children’s parks and splash pads, and exploring the statues and ducks along the Riverwalk. On the weekends, they love to get out and try new restaurants or drink craft beer at one of the local breweries. A few favorites they frequent include Vai’s, Allegory, Jackson Avenue Pub, Bubblehouse Brewing, and Solemn Oath Brewery. The Patels are very happy to call East Highlands their home and are looking forward to getting to know and becoming involved in the wonderful community.
