No Limits: Creating Connection, Purpose, and Joy for Adults with Special Needs
For Eaglebrooke resident Luanne Sells, making a difference in the lives of others is more than a passion—it’s a calling. Alongside her husband George, Luanne has called Eaglebrooke home for the past five years. Together, they are the proud parents of Tyler, their 33-year-old son with special needs. It was through their family’s journey that Luanne was inspired to create a place where adults with special needs could find meaningful friendships, opportunities to give back, and a true sense of belonging.
About three years ago, after volunteering within Lakeland’s special needs community, Luanne recognized two major challenges facing adults like Tyler.
Once they aged out of the school system, opportunities to meet new friends and stay socially active were extremely limited. On top of that, finding ways to work or volunteer within the community proved difficult. Conversations with Tyler’s peers confirmed her observations—they longed to connect, contribute, and live with purpose, but faced considerable barriers.
Refusing to let those challenges define them, Luanne took action.
She reached out to other parents who shared her concerns, and together they founded the No Limits Social Club—a name that reflects the belief that adults with special needs should face no limits in what they can achieve or contribute.
The club officially launched in November 2022 with just 11 people gathered at Luanne’s home on Whisper Woods. Today, it has grown into a thriving community of over 400 members, with monthly gatherings often drawing as many as 200 participants. The club’s mission is to foster friendship, inclusion, and purpose through meaningful activities that engage both members and the broader community.
Each month, No Limits Social Club organizes a variety of experiences—from volunteer projects supporting local veterans and seniors to fun outings like bowling nights, movie meetups, parties, and local sporting events. In July, the club celebrated “Christmas in July” and collected toys for Toys for Tots, a beautiful example of how they blend social fun with community service.
But for Luanne, No Limits is more than a social group—it’s a movement.
Her goal is to highlight the talents, abilities, and dedication of adults with special needs so that more businesses and community members will open doors to employment and volunteer opportunities.
“Individuals with special needs have so much to offer,” Luanne says. “They just need the chance to show it.”
Thanks to Luanne’s vision, her dedicated volunteers, and the incredible spirit of its members, No Limits Social Club has become a symbol of empowerment, compassion, and community connection.
Now, she’s inviting you to be part of the story.
If you’d like to get involved, there are many ways to help—volunteer at an event, donate resources or funds, or even create employment and service opportunities for No Limits members.
Together, we can continue to build a community where every individual—no matter their abilities—has the chance to shine.
