Babysitter Directory

If you are a babysitter and would like to be listed in the neighborhood guide, please send your contact information to our director, Maddie, at maddieyvonne@gmail.com. Please include an email or phone number where you would like to be contacted. Also, please include any certifications you may have (CPR, first aid, completed babysitting course, etc.).

The Devonwood Neighborhood Babysitters' Guide is provided as a resource to residents looking for a reliable and conscientious young adult to hire as a babysitter. Maddie Beaule has been instrumental in helping this directory continue to grow. This month, Maddie has offered some important tips for other teens who are already working as a babysitter or who may be considering getting into the business.

Tips for babysitters:
Plan activities to do with the kids in advance (i.e., crafts and/or games).

Find a movie that you think they would like in advance.

Ask the parents questions about specific snacks to have and if they have rules.

Before you put the kids to bed, play a quiet activity or do something that doesn’t get them too excited.

Make a competition of going to bed.

Make sure to start the movie at a time when it won’t finish too early.

Try to be the “cool” babysitter, but make sure to have discipline.

Stay off your phone unless the kids are sleeping.

Make sure to ask about food allergies.

Make sure to ask about discipline and rules that the family abides by.
