Summer Strolls
Summer has a way of pulling us outside, whether we planned it or not. It might be an early morning walk with a friend before the heat settles in, or a late evening stroll when the light lingers just long enough that the houses are brushed with golden light. There is the dash to a neighbor’s pool for a quick dip, the laughter still wet on the walk home, and the familiar route into the village for something cold that somehow tastes better when the air is thick with heat. Each of these small journeys becomes an invitation to slow down, notice who is out and about, and exchange the easy hellos that stitch us together. You find yourself catching up with old friends, meeting new neighbors, and realizing that the sidewalks and street shoulders of Crestline are as much about stopping as they are about movement. If we are lucky, the connections formed in the heat of July will carry us forward into the quieter months ahead, when living room fires glow and movie nights replace evening light, but the warmth of those shared walks still lingers just the same.
